Hi Everyone,

Well it is actually surgery-eve for Harley. After reading the book and scanning a lot of information, I know we are doing the right thing...but still worried!!

Harley broke his left rear leg playing about 3 weeks ago...and unfortunately, it appears to be because of cancer. So our 12 year old is joining the tripawd community and we are going to hope for the absolute best!

Thank you for being here and being such a great resource for us already!

Welcome Harley! We're glad you found us and are sharing your story. If there is anything at all we can do to make your journey easier, just holler.

The next few days will have ups and downs but they're not forever and things DO get better, I promise! It was smart of your people to schedule your surgery today, that way you can all lay around and relax this weekend. Please keep us posted oK?

Thanks for reading our ebook! We appreciate it.

Thanks for the good thoughts!  I had a good talk with Harley last night, explaining what was going to happen today. First time he went willingly to the back office of the vet. So, I think the message may have gotten through. Now just waiting for the call that he is out of surgery.  Which should be anytime soon!

Welcome Harley and family!

Roxy is a recent rear amputee (her surgery was April 2nd) and she's 13. She's amazing me with her progress. I've been taking video every day of her recovery (http://micaroxy.....ipawds.com if you want to take a look).

Also, you've come to the right place. Everyone here is so helpful and friendly.

Hi Harley and Family!  Sandee is also a recent rear-leg amputee--same day as Roxy (April 2). Her recovery has been easier and faster than I expected and she's very quickly getting back to her old routines. This morning, for the first time since surgery, while I was fixing the dogs' breakfast, I heard the little taptaptaptaptap of her front feet doing the "I'm so excited about breakfast" dance.

Beaming prayers and positive energies to Harley this evening. Wishing him the uneventful recovery that Sandee has enjoyed.

Thanks everyone! We are home and resting...not necessarily peaceful, but being home is just the best! Have taken care of "business" a few times already, so that is good!

I am trying very hard to keep things normal, but the mom in me wants to jump up and just pet him like crazy...good thing the computer is in my lap!!

By recovery does take place and our heart will feel like bursting with joy every time you see the sparkle com back!

Wow he did #1 & #2 already? That's impressive! Many dogs take days to go #2. Sounds like you're on the way to a good recovery.

Relax this weekend and just spoil that boy rotten. Before you know it he'll be hopping around like nobody's business! Keep us posted and let us know if you need anything. Congrats on making it past surgery!

Welcome and congrats Harley and Mom,

Very glad to hear the surgery went well. Now comes the time for healing and taking it easy, the both of you.  Just cherish these days, weeks, months and hopefully many years together as they are sooo special. I know with going through this whole experience with Tahoe, our bond has increased ten-fold, as yours will.

Please keep us updated on the progress!

It was a rough night but we made it, and we have been laying around all day...except for needing to go outside for our business.  I have a wee bit of a headache from lack of sleep and clenching my teeth when I did sleep, but otherwise we are doing okay...hopefully tonight will be calmer and we have figured out the meds!

Will keep everyone update on how it is going...thank you for all the kind thoughts!
