For the first time in my life, my dogs have escaped and disappeared. I missed
them
get through a panel in my fence that they broke through for about
20-30
minutes and by the time I went looking, they were literally gone. This had
happened
before a few times but they never left our immediate suburban area.
For those who don't know my clan, I have an 8 year old PB Eskie, N/M and
last
year adopted a year old Tripawd Great Pyr/Samoyed. They are quite a
pair of
recognizable animals and such rascals I can't see anybody really being
able to
steal them (they would regret that, their main skill is barking and they
are
bugs for attention.)and after combing the neighborhood for 8 hours I am
confident they weren't run over and left at the side of the road.
So I remain hopeful that perhaps my tripod Pyr got tired and some good
samaritan took him and his buddy Yukon in for the evening. I have called the local HS and they are very helpful as the whole staff got to know Sully before our adoption. He is supposed to have his picture taken for the HS Calendar even. I am also printing posters with pictures and am offering a reward. I have never had to go through this process before, its agonizing but so different from when a pack menber dies. Wierd.
I am praying that soon we can be reunited.
Keeping my fingers crossed in a very quiet and empty house, send me some
good
vibes.

Oh how scary!!! The worst part is the not knowing where they are part 🙁 I hope your puppies come home soon!!! A friend of my boss took her dog up from CA, and he got loose in Seattle. She had to go back home for work, but would come back every weekend. I think it took like, 6 weeks, but they found her 🙂 I wish the same outcome for you (only make it happen faster than 6 weeks!). Let us know when they come back!
<3 Laura and Birthday Boy
The Humane Society just dropped off our missing rascals. They were sheltered overnight by a family several miles away on the outskirts of town who called in this afternoon.
The rascals had an adventure for sure and came home with "attitude". I am going to work on that and spend the next days escape proofing our yard. If they make another break they will need blowtorches and dynamite.
Thanks for your prayers and good vibes. I am sure they helped.

WITH Sully and Yukon
Thank goodness someone took them in for the night! Who knows how far they would have gone otherwise? Glad to hear they are back home safe and sound.
We have concrete block walls all the way around our yard. Chuy, Gretchen & Anka can't get out unless someone leaves the gate open.
Chuy, showing everyone that Tripawds do everything 3 times better than regular dogs!
Plenty of good thoughts for their safe return. I can only imagine how heart broken you must be.
Next time I'll hit refresh before I post 🙂 so very glad for the wonderful update.

Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Something must be going around. Gerry tried to take off on my roommate earlier today while I was at work! Luckily he didn't get far before he came upon a PERSON walking down the street. YAY people!!! With my roommate's dog, all she has to do is pull out a tennis ball and BAM! he's at her side. With Gerry, apparently I need to whip out a new person to meet. That's not as convenient.
SO GLAD THEY'RE HOME SAFE AND SOUND!!! Good luck with the construction work to keep them in
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.
Videos and pics of Gerry's pawesomeness can be found at: http://gerry.tripawds.com
OMG! I was reading your first post and felt so horrible for you... then luckily I read your next post with the good news! Whew! Those bad doggies!!! Thank goodness someone took them in overnite... who knows what could have happened!
Glad to hear the story has a happy ending... Now go work on escape-proofing that fence of yours!
Angel Jake's Mom
Jake, 10yr old golden retriever (fractured his front right leg on 9/1, bone biopsy revealed osteosarcoma on 9/10, amputation on 9/17) and his family Marguerite, Jacques and Wolfie, 5yr old german shepherd and the newest addition to the family, Nala, a 7mth old Bengal mix kittie. Jake lost his battle on 11/9/2009, almost 8 weeks after his surgery. We will never forget our sweet golden angel… http://jakesjou.....ipawds.com ….. CANCER SUCKS!
Patrick, Yukon and Sully,
Sorry that I missed you initial posting . . . Humm . . . Maybe I am not so sorry for I too would have been extremely worried and logging onto the site nearly every five minutes just to check out what was happening. Seriously though, I can only guess how scary it must have been. Emily tells me of a story where a burgulery of her house resulted in all her dogs getting out until they had returned home from work for that day. That was before we met, and it scared the pudding out of her. Our local vet reciently lost her little dog for more than a month when it decided to wander through a hole in the screen door. After reading the initial posting, we quickly scanned down to see if there was a follow-up, thus saving us many anxious moments.
Take care and stay together.

Thank goodness! We're so glad your pups were sheltered overnight by some kind humans!
Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Yukon and Sully, are you trying to one-up my Bad Boy rep? Because I'll tell ya, that was a great stunt! Well, I think it was but then again I'm the Wild One.
Now don't do that again! You're making me look bad.
Glad you're back with the pack.
