I am so sorry that this isn't the news you wanted or that we all wanted to hear.  We are with you 100%.  Hopefully they will let her continue with the study as you do this treatment as well.  Chance has done exceedingly well with the study and she can continue to beat this.

Cancer sucks.  I'm so sorry.  I hope the team of drs can work something out so she gets good treatment for her osteo and good treatment for this new cancer.  She's a fighter!  That's probably why she's so tired.  She's got a lot to fight and a lot going on, but YOU are there for her!  Both of you, together, will make it through.  Keep us updated.  Best wishes and loads of love.

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

I'm so sorry about this news, I know it's heartbreaking to hear. We're glad you came back to tell us what's going on.

Chance is a strong girl, and so far she has continued to defy everyone's expectations. With your love, anything is possible. She could very well be one of the 40 percent who responds to chemo, so we will stay hopeful right along with you.

Many, many hugs are coming your way. Please keep us posted.

Things are what they are but that doesn't mean we have to like them!  I'm sorry the news wasn't better.

It can be hard to know what is best for our dogs. Trust your instincts on what is best for Chance regarding her treatment plan.  If only we could know the outcome... but we can't.  But at least with a plan you have some control over this insidious disease.  Have a plan and keep cherishing every precious day with Chance.  Don't lose sight of living in the moment with your beautiful girl.

Many hugs

Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. I'm sorry to read this.

I have to agree with Karen & Spirit Magnum. Only you can know the answer for what to do. We can offer advice and what we did in our situations, but you know Chance best. Whatever you decide will ultimately be the right decision, because it comes from your love for Chance.

Hang in there.

Jackie, Angel Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. I'm so sorry to hear this. Cancer is so unpredictable. Ugh.

You and Chance have a bond that is incredibly strong, I know she knows how much she means to you.

I hope and pray with all I've got that the oral chemo will work. Please tell Chance that we are all cheering you on OK?

I feel sorry for those folks who don't understand how strong the bond can be with a pet. They are missing out on something very special.

The "early stages" news sounds good. Sending our best pawsitive thoughts out for you and Chance.
