Aww sounds like she's doing great! Once they start getting back into their old routines, they are so much happier. Here's to much more couch cuddling!

So I'm on the couch trying to enjoy some cereal (Reese's Puffs) with Brandy laying beside me, and I can't enjoy it as much as I'd like because she just stinks!

I think it may because of her dead skin patches and the infection in her dead skin patch that is on her butt. Also, she may have dried wet food on under her chin that she can't clean because of her cone. lol.

I can not wait til Monday to take her back to the vet to get the dead skin patches checked out again and hopefully get them worked on (cut out, cleaned, and stitched up.)

I do wipe her down some throughout the day with kitty wipes. Especially after her meds and when I know she has eaten.

Do yall have any tips to make her smell better?!

Trust me, I enjoy her cuddling with me and I can handle the smell enough, but if I can make her smell better, I'll try it. lol!

Guess Fabreeze is out of the question!winker

It probably is related to the skin and infection issues, so I don't really think it's anyenyou can "wipe" away or mask.

Sorry, no help, but maybe our kitty memt will have some advice.

REAE glad Brandy is feeling better!

Isn't it wonderful to have her snuggling by your side again? Is she eating any of your cereal Puffs? Yum!!

I wish I could Febreze her! lol! Jk!

I did ask a few people who I do Young Living Essential Oils with to see of they have any suggestions for Brandy's situation. (Even though cats and oils don't really go together. Cat's are pretty sensitive to most oils. But some oils can be used on cats.)

Amd yes, I am so happy to have her cuddles and love again! I am so happy to have my baby girl again! 🙂

And no, she didn't get any cereal tonight. She sometimes gets some though. lol. 🙂

Yeah for Brandy getting around so well. She obviously loves to be cuddling you.

I would suggest you phone the vet or emergency vet to discuss the odour before doing anything. It may need a debridment or flush to get the infected stuff out. Is that the plan for Monday? If there are no options for today perhaps just placing a warm, damp facecloth over top of the area may block out the smell while you cuddle.

Could you dab some essential oil under your nose on your top lip?

Yea, the plan for Monday is to hopefully get her dead skin patches cut out, cleaned up, and stitched up.

I do have some good smelling oils around to put on to have a good smell going. lol!

And my baby girl is just cuddling away some more! I'm so happy! 🙂

Went to the vet with Brandy a little bit ago. The infection that is on the dead skin patch that is on her butt has spread all over the dead skin patch, so they are going to cut that area out, clean it up, then stitch it up. The dead skin patch on her leg is clear of infection, so they'll just stitch that area up. They may keep her over night or I may pick her up today depending on how late they do the surgery.

And Brandy weighed 12.3 lbs at the vet. She was 15.2 before her surgery, which was 2 weeks ago.

The vet said that I can let her eat as much as she wants right now to gain some weight back while she heals from all the surgeries. Then we will work on her weight loss after she heals up, so she can then lose weight at a slower and safer rate.

Brandy is in surgery right now. The vet will call me back when the surgery is done.

I still don't know if I'll bring her home today or tomorrow.

I would still try to see if she would eat some baby food turkey and gravy , chicken and gravy ! I think there is ham and gravy too.  See if she will eat one.

I think it will help with getting her some calories! Turkey and gravy is 80 calories the little jars. I really think she will like one of them!

Just throwing that back out there just in case it might help. They are around a buck a jar depending on where you go.
