brownie had a rough night and it's worse today. He is getting sick at both end. His breathing attacks are coming more freqant and harder. I think there comes a time when it's harder to watch them in pain then it is to say good-bye.
My Beautiful Beloved Brownie was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on February 26, 2019. With all odds against him he lived an additional one year and eight days with amputation, love, and prayer. I was honored to be his mom, and I have never been so proud! He will live forever in my Heart!

Big hugs and lots of love to you both.

My sweet soulmate Roane was diagnosed with osteo in June of 2019. Had a rear leg amp on July 2nd & crossed the rainbow bridge to be with her sister Gypsy on the first day of Autumn Sept 23 2019.
Thinking of you, just got home. Sending you and Brownie lots of love

I'm so sorry Nancy, I wish things were better. This disease can be so cruel. Did the vet get in touch yet?
We are keeping you and Brownie in our hearts and sending lots of love. Let us know how things are going when you are able.

Thank you Everyone!
Brownie seems to be doing a little better. His tummy issue seems to be under control with pepdobismal. He is taking cough syrup. I tried the liquid but he spits it out, all over my wall. So we are using the capsules. The only thing I worry about is at night he seems to have bad breathing attacks, lime he can't catch his breath. does anyone know the sign if fluid building of the lungs?
today 2/26 Is officially Brownie's one year!

That Brownie is something special, that's for sure! Making it real plain he does not like that cough medicine...too funny!
Glad his tummy is better. I was going to mention maybe rhe cough medicine and the CBD made it upset. Clearly it wasn't the cough syrup.😀
Can't really provide any input about fluids. The Vet can usually tell just by listening. Not sure, just a guess, but I don't think it comes and goes. I think if fluid is there, it doesn't go away, it gets noticeably worse. Again, not a Vet and only a Vet can confirm. It did get harder for Happy Hannah to sleep at night. It wasn't the fluid, it was the position of the met that was compromising her breathing if she lay a certain way. Just comfort him and reassure him and see if changing positions settles him down.
Now, about that ONE YEAR AMPUVERSARY!!!! BROWNIE IS TRULY A MIRACLE DOG!! THIS IS SUCH A GREAT VICTORY!!! We want pictures!!!
Lots of hugs to you, Brownie, Sassy and Max❤❤❤
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Brownie you are AMAZING! You did it! HOPPY AMPUVERSARY!
Nancy that was smart of you to think of using capsules, makes total sense. As for fluid in the lungs...yeah Sally is correct, a vet can probably tell by listening in. The breathing attacks may be related to a met blocking his airways, which is what happened to Jerry. The only way to know for sure is to get the vet to check it out.
For now though, it's time to do a little hoppy dance (or a BIG ONE!) and celebrate your boy's milestone. What a precious day!

BROWNIE! YOU HAVE THE BEST CARDS EVVVVER FROM JERRY AND JACKIE😎😎😎 Best dogs ever deserve best cards ever!!
Cannot wait to see your celebration picture/video!! It will include ice cream🍨🍧🍦 , right?? This really is a MONUMENTAL VICTORY for all dogs, but especially for "mature" dogs with arthritis who were given a "times up" statistic of three months!!!! HaHa!! Brownie laughed and proceeded with his own set of record breaking statistics!!!😎😎

I'm having a milkshake in your honor Brownie. Happy ampuversary!!!
Maggie was really tough to get pills in- liquids were sometimes easier but not always. I once tried giving Maggie some pepto liquid, with the syringe way back in her mouth. She managed to keep it all in her mouth then it came foaming out like she was rabid, only in pink . And some got on the chair which of course had a white seat. A permanent reminder of the Pug who wouldn't swallow.
Here's to more good days!
