Yesterday was a very special day, it's Miz Blossom's first Birthday! She's only been with us for 8 months and we're so very pleased she's here!
What a pleasure it's been to watch her grow. She's very much her own "dog." After all, she does have her own "time zone", Blossom time. She's a very, very happy dog. Tail's always wagging, hippity hopping on to her next adventure!
Our backyard has been converted into a racetrack, demolition derby type set up. Dusty and Daisy sprint from the Crape Myrtle down the fence, hang a right just before hitting the corner of Cesar and Theresa's fence. Threading the narrow gap between the garage and hedge, leaping up to make a quick 90 degree turn so as not to hit the Crape Myrtle, starting their second lap. Blossom positions herself so that she can pick off whoever's leading the race, with a quick "nudge" of her shoulder, also called a cross body block, suddenly, SHE'S leading the race! Daisy and Dusty really haven't caught on to how she almost always wins!
After she gets them all fired up, they're running around chasing each other, growling and such, you'll find Miz Blossom20 feet away, huddled down between the fence and the Crape Mrytle calming chewing on the latest branch that was knocked off during the race.
She had her first visit with a Chiropractor a couple of days ago. Poor Blossom had NO IDEA what this person was doing to her! She was groped, twisted, turned, and neck and back "popped". She did really well! She wasn't thrilled but she accepted this new person, touching and working with her. She was scared, was shaking a bit, but we made it through. It will be easier and better next time!
She and Daisy have a Canine Behaviorist that's helping to get them comfortable with what goes on around them. Not being socialized as young 'ns is a problem. We have a lot of work to do, that's OK, it's not really work when we see them make progress.
It's a special kind of joy to watch Miz Blossom as she goes about her young life. Such a happy girl. When we open the mail, she's as excited as we are! And... she knows exactly how to shred that envelope! Then it's, oh boy, Daisy brought a new twig from the backyard! Wow, mom better not leave that sock unattended for very long! Rosy left her new ball outside when she got a drink of water, Yoo Hoo, it's mine now!!! She really enjoys messing with Rosy… Then it's off to see what's Dusty doing? Poor Dusty, he still not sure what these 2 new knuckleheads are doing here!
Watching her makes my heart smile. I can't wait to see how folks react to her big brown eyes and a seriously wagging tail when she's a Comfort, Social Therapy Dog. They're just gonna love her up!
Well Miz Blossom, happiest HAPPY BIRTHDAY adorable!! 🎂🎉
Not many dogs have their own time zone AND their own Demolition Derby race track😎
Blossom positions herself so that she can pick off whoever's leading the race, with a quick "nudge" of her shoulder, also called a cross body block, suddenly, SHE'S leading the race!
Good thing there aren't any "penalty flags" thrown in the Derby. So many great visuals of how she and Daisy play and Dusty too. Guess Dusty is the level-headed "mature" pup
There's no way you could ever have a day without lots of smiles and laughter with Blossom around.
Yes, Blossom amd Daisy will be spectacular "Comfort Soocal Therapy Dogs. When you can, tell is more about what's involved and how long it takes to achieve generally. Shelby was a Therapy Dog, eight?
Thanks so much for the happy update AND adorable pictures!! Always love the pictures 😎
Hugs

Aww Hoppy Birthday Blossom! A year old already? You are growing up so fast and becoming quite the Derby Queen! Go! Go! Go! That's what puppies are all about right? All that energy and love, you will make a GREAT therapy dog someday.
Jack that's really neat you have all these experts working to make them the best dogs they can be. They're starting off on the right paw, that's for sure. How cool that you live in an area with such a great team of people helping the doggos.
How is Dusty doing these days? Sounds like he's matured into a really mellow, handsome boy. Don't furget to put some picture of him up too, we miss seeing him! And of course Rosy too. How does she like being the big sis? Any chance you can get them all in one photo? THAT would be entertaining to watch you set it up!
P.S. Let us know if you'd like any help with that blog you started OK?
