Finally, I am excited to introduce you all to my buddy Gus. As everyone has said, there is remarkable improvement after those first 2 weeks, and Gus was no different. For those of you just starting this road, there is light at the end of the tunnel, but it will at times be rough, unforgiving, and heartwrenching. We will be 4 week this wednesday and feel Gus is almost 100% himself again. He is stiill on gabapentin, but not sure if he needs it, but he has slept through the night for 5 nights now and the phantom pain seems to have run its course, I hope. It has been such a pleasure being part of this family and I hope Gus and myself will be able to help others through the journey. We have opted for no chemo, he is so happy right now we felt he has been through enough and from reading others experiences that did and didn't decided it was the best for us. For those of you wondering if something is normal, or why your buddy is or isn't doing something, this is the best place to be. Don't be afraid to ask anything, everyone here has been down the road, and nothing beats experience, you'll find someone who has dealt with an issue you are. Thanks to all, Gus and Dan
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010

Gus and Dan,
Yea to Gus!! So very glad to hear that you are doing better. Just remember to follow Jerry's motto to live every day to the fullest! While we may be early, we want to congratulate you on making the one month ampuversary. These milestones are also worth celebrating - extra hugs, extra play time, extra special treats, and Miss Cherry's favorite way to celebrate - ICE CREAM.
We look forward to many more great updates and ampuversary notifications. Just because we sent an early congratulations does not let you off the hook for an update on how you celebrated.

Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!
