Wooo hooo! Maya, you're really kickin' butt.

Yeah the cone really stinks but it's worth it not to have an infection.

Be good, let your Momma spoil you and know that it won't be long now till you're having a ball again. Hang in there!

Hello everyone! I know its been a little while, (rough time for me lately) BUT i thought I'd post a pic today oh Maya :)

It's her one month ampuversary :)

She's doing amazingly well, except every once in a while she'll slip and hit her stump and she cries for a solid two minutes...but otherwise she's back to her normal self!

Wow! Maya is just so pretty. It's so great to see her a month out, I'm hoppy to see she's lovin' life and looking so good. The stump pain should subside soon hopefully. Do you do anything to help her calm down when she hits it?

And Hoppy Ampuversary Maya!!!

Well..i just hold her while she's screaming her head off. its almost scary cause her teeth are chomping everywhere cause shes freaking out, but we live in an apartment so i just try to quiet her asap..my room mate ran and grabbed a muzzle the other day.

also i noticed that shes a lot more barky now that shes three legged...not sure if its cause she's stir crazy or if its cause she feels like she cant get to the door as fast so she just alerts us with a bark at every little sound!

What a gorgeous baby! Hope she's feeling all better soon!

Happy one month ampuversary!
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. She is a cutie!!!  Happy one month ampuversary.  Hopefully it shouldn't be too long before that stump should be able to cope with the odd rough and tumble without hurting.

Hmmm.. I wonder if "tough love" and acting as if things are normal will help keep her calm, or make things worse? Honestly I'm really not sure, but hopefully this too shall pass.

Yesterday Maya and I went on a walk, its somewhere between 1/2-3/4 of a mile!

She did great! She was verrrry thirsty afterwards, but I believe that was cause I had to have her on the leash and she was trying to move fast and drag me the whole time. She also chased a bird or two.

My babys coming back!

That's so terrific!

I think you'll find it useful to always carry water with you· Tripawds have to work so much harder on walks that we get thirsty a LOT!

Here's to lots of fun walks ahead·

Maya and I went to the dog park today!

She did SO great! She even jumped through the hoop several times! Then I brought her along for a round of disc golf, and made her  my personal caddy...don't worry guys, she only carried 2 discs, my car keys, and a pack of cigarettes...which later got soaked because she found a creek to piddle around in :/   I'll know better next time!

Awwwwright, Maya!  Way to go!  You are such a stunning little lady.  I think I missed your 1 month....so, Hoppy 1 month!  Yey!

We're 7 weeks post-amp and tonight Jackson bumped his stump and whined.  I don't know how long he'll be tender, but it's clear he appreciates mom-love when his stump hurts.  I cup it in my hands and try to squeeze a little.  It helps him a lot.  I hope Maya's pain continues to subside!

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

Oh my gosh she looks so hoppy. She is really smiling in that pic.

What a perfect day, I'm glad you two had fun out there! Ok, I won't worry now that you described what was in the bags!
