Well, I haven't written in awhile, so here's the udpate on Max.  This Sunday (1/18) will be 8 weeks since his amputation.  He's doing great!!  Things really started to change around 5 weeks.  All of a sudden he started acting like the "old" Max.  Play-bowing, wrestling, and chasing with Linda, and our next door neighbor's dog, Mr. Tubbs (9-lb poodle).  I know all of you told me that day would come, but it never seemed like it would.  However, John and I were really happy when it did.  (Linda too!)  It's hard to believe that he can run almost as fast as he did with four legs.  Pretty amazing!

We also had the pleasure of spending some time with Jim and Rene in Newport Beach this past Monday morning.  (Jim & Rene, thanks again for taking time out of your schedule for us; it was very kind of you.)  This was Max's first trip back to the beach since before his biopsy (more than 2 months ago).  It was well-deserved, and he was as happy as can be.  (Linda too!)  They really enjoyed seeing Max, and John & I enjoyed hearing about Jerry.  When we left, Max impressed everyone by lifting his hind leg when he peed.  For those of you counting, this means he was balancing on only TWO LEGS!!  That brought cheers from everyone.  He's quite a talented pup!  We were an hour at the beach, then a bath when we got home.  Max slept the rest of the day until dinnertime!

Max will have his 3rd chemo treatment this Saturday.  This will put us half-way through his treatments.  Can't wait until that 6th one.  We give Max a special diet of chicken & rice soup and pumpkin when he gets chemo (for upset stomach), so even though he doesn't feel well afterward, I know loves getting special treat meals.

Anyway, just wanted to update everyone on our guy's progress.  He's doing great!  Thanks again to everyone on this website, and wishing everyone well.
