and for goodness sake I almost let it pass me by!!!!  I didn't even realize it til I was at the vet picking up the next chemo that we just started (will be posting an ongoing record of this new chemo).

He had a VERY active time at the dog park we haven't been to for about two years!  He met a young golden lab and TWO young pits…one who was in HEAT (1 yr old) and her male companion (2 years old).  I was a little apprehensive because these were very strong and large pups!  Well, MAGIC WAS THE ONE MISBEHAVING!!!  He was humping both of them and boy was I embarrassed.  (as everyone knows, it isn't sexual, he was just claiming the whole damn dog park!)  He played  and chased probably longer than I should have let him because we had walked a little at another park but no one was there to play with then we went to the dog park but had to walk in from the parking lot and THEN had to walk BACK.  He did NOT want to leave and really tried to guilt me into staying….Even thought throwing himself down would make me take him back (gee, don't suppose I have spoiled him rotten do you….)

So although we have a rather unfortunate outlook, we are doing well today and THAT is what counts!!  So come follow us through this new treatment and crossed fingers and paws and many prayers that this will retard the growth of those nasty things!!

Happy Ampuversary, Magic!!  It sounds like you had a pawsome day today - two parks?!!  You lucky dog, you!  And we will keep all fingers and paws crossed that the new meds keep those nasty things from growing.  Holly will be enjoying another treat tonight in your honor! You rock!

Hugs,

Holly and Holly's mom

Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Indeed, today is what counts.  And an ampuversary is ALWAYS worth a celebration!  Magic is feeling well and that is the important thing.  He's happy, he has energy, and he still loves his play time.  Those are all things to be thankful for.

This probably belongs somewhere else, but because you are my friend, I want to share it with you. I realized as I sat with Trouble in the yard this evening, I am no longer afraid she will die. That paralyzing fear I had for so many months has left me.  We have been blessed with time, time she felt well, time for me to spoil her, time for me to make her my heart. I have finally accepted that she will one day leave me, and I will be heartbroken, but OMG, the wonderful memories we've made.  Go, Diane and make memories.  You are well on your way, you know how to enjoy those moments in the park, you know how special it is to do the things Magic enjoys.

Give Magic an extra treat (after his pills) for Trouble.  We send wishes for many, many, more ampuversaries to come.  Hugs to both of you!

Magic man - Happy ampuversary!

Yes, I concur your mom sure knows how to celebrate with park trips!  She's always got the right spirit, too!  It's all about living!

Let's keep our toes crossed that the new treatment will do its work!

Big Congrats!

Shanna,

This probably belongs somewhere else,

The last time I looked, the forum police was eating donuts at the donut shop! smile So, you can post whatever you want!

I totally "get" what you are saying.   Acceptance is powerful.

A great big HOPPY AMPUVERSARY Magic! We are so proud to know that your lessons have made an impression on your Mom. Sounds like you're doing a great job teaching her how to live in the now. Diane, you are doing GREAT! Keep it up!

Shanna, you also deserve a great big hug too. Your honesty touches our hearts. What you are holding there are the keys to living with cancer (and even without), while staying sane, present and grateful for that gift of another day together. Congratulations.

As usual Shanna has nailed it perfectly on both counts. Two months is definately worth a PAWRTY with extra hugs, extra play time, extra treats, and hopefully ICE CREAM Miss Cherry's favorite. I think that I remember that Magic has lost his taste for ICE CREAM, but that may just be holding out for a diferent flavor. We will be toasting this great event and celebrating with you vicariously. (That is the noise you are hearing from just east of the bay.)

Also extending Shanna's thought, these momories will warm your soul. We know when we bring them home that their time with us will be all too short and this fight does not help that situation. Taking a line from Simon & Garfunkel's Bookends, which is the first song on my short video tribute to Miss Cherry, "Preserve your memories, they're all that's left you." Praying that You and Magic have many more months of memory making.

Happy 2 Month Ampuversary Magic!! That is so pawesome and playing in the dog parks sounds like you really ruled! But of course, you're a tripawd! Yea! Here's to many, many more ampuversaries and dog parks galore!

Sending you lots of golden hugs!

Kami, Mackenzie & Kobe

My sweet golden Mackenzie.  She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2  although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home.  She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009.  She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes.  I love you Mackenzie!
