She would prefer to just destroy the toy to get to the food,
Wyatt Ray is the same way! He would bash his brain game toys to bits if we didn't supervise.
@Jerry- the game is the Trixie Activity Poker Box Strategy Game.
Hey look at that, Amazon has Trixie games too! (and yep folks, Tripawds gets a kickback if you buy anything from our affiliate links so thanks!).
Lots of cool games there, I haven't heard of that brand, thanks for the intro!

Two weeks since amputation (tomorrow)!! Can't believe how much time has flown.
Kinzi had an exciting day today. We took her for a picnic by the water. It was so nice to have a "normal" day with her. I've been afraid to take her places, wanting her to rest. But she loved the wind and all the smells!
She is annoyed at me in this picture because I wouldn't share my sandwich haha
Then she came home and enjoyed some sunbathing in the yard:
She is hit or miss on the stairs but can go up or down (!) when she wants. When she isn't feeling confident, she sits and lifts her torso for us to pick her up. Great pawgress continues as well all adjust to our new normal.
A lovely day for a picnic and a good back scratch roll😎 Sweeeet!! I love all the little puffs of clouds dancing in the blue sky over her
Such a polite girl not to reach up and grab that sandwich out of your hand!
Seeing Kinzi so happy makes me smile. Very smart of her to let you know she needs yoir assistance on the stairs. Such a trusting bond.
Hugs

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
What a perfect way to celebrate her ampuversary! She looks so happy to be outside, even if she didn't get that sandwich from you! (Good job staying strong and helping her keep that girlish figure 😉
In time she will tackle those stairs with more confidence and regularity. She's well on her way!

Hi Ashley! Grassy back scritches are just the best! I don't think there is a day that goes by where Griffin doesn't flop down for a few sessions of scritches when we are on our walks - I hope they make Kinzi as happy as they make Griffin! I'm so glad that you all are finding your new normal and I'll bet in a few weeks, Kinzi will be flying up and down the stairs confidently and consistently. Yay for a great update about awesome progress! ~ Stacy
Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! Diagnosed with osteosarcoma on March 17, 2020, Griffin's right forelimb was amputated on April 2, 2020. Ten days later he was running and playing fetch! Lung metastasis discovered in July 2020 did not slow down Griffin and he lived joyfully for the next 7 months, passing peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. https://griffin.tripawds.com
She loves scritches! When I snagged that photo, she scratched her back and then laid there on her back for 30 minutes in the sun. I had to get up and check she was alive haha 🙂
Thank you Jerry, Sally, and Stacy for all the encouragement. I really cherish coming on here and checking in. <3
Three weeks and we're doing well! She is energetic and managing well, but I am concerned that she seems to be falling a lot when walking outside. I hate to see it but she doesn't seem to be bothered and keeps on walking.
No pawgress here just sharing that she is super cute:
Also we got our new harness and she loves it! We took it out for a test ride yesterday for a walk:

She's a super cutie! My cat had many falls initially until she developed her strength to learn to re-balance and she learned that she could no longer take flying leaps off the bed. I could see Mona's progress weekly as she developed her confidence and redecorated the house with steps and boxes to access beds, couches and chairs.
I love how her tail spins to propel her along.

Another CUTENESS ALERT. from the adorable Kinzi! All Tripawds are xute, but Kinzi adds the exclamation point to CUTENESS alert!!!!!
As long as nothing seems to bother her when she has a little stumble, I wouldn't worry. She's still getting her sea legwand a tumble jere and there will happen.
A,ouch that cute gal for is!

One Month!! Very proud of our girl and the pawgress she's made!
Happy to report that her body control has improved significantly in the last week. I'm not seeing as many tumbles and she seems more confident. I think she might have more coordination than when she was on four legs? She used to be a bit clumsy.
We also got a K9 sport backpack for her and she LOVES it. We go for walks and when she gets tired, she lays down. She waits patiently until we set up the backpack and she hops in. She especially loves when her 6'7'' dog dad lets her smell trees and flowers from a new perspective. He *pawses* long enough for her get a good sniff. So adorable.
One month down... hopefully many more to go!
She looks great!
I'm glad to hear about the backpack too. I was thinking about one for Elly but since she is missing a back leg I don't know how comfortable she would be- she is very cautious about her amp site and rarely sits on hard surfaces and still doesn't really like me to touch it (almost 5 years post amp).
And here's to many, many, many more months of sniffing the trees!

Honest to goodness, Kinzi has me grinning ear to ear with every picture or video of her! She is just sooooo darn cute!!! And she will furever look like a puppy!!
Her Dad gets extra applause for the way he stops and let her smell things that were always out of his reach. Such a thoughtful thing to do!👏👏
And I love how she let's you know she's tired and ready for her backpack Uber driver! Smart and cute!!
So thrilled to be celebrating her ONE MONTH AMPUVERSARY!!! Way to rock being the Cutest Tripawd on the Planet!! A scoop,of ice cream to celebrate! And we want pictures please!!!

Hi Ashley! Yay for Kinzi - happy one month ampuversary! She is so stinkin' cute and her videos always make me so happy. I'm glad to hear that she is doing so well just 4 short weeks after major surgery. And she looks so happy in that carrier. I don't think they make them in Griffin's size - LOL. Please keep posting photos and videos of your adorable Kinzi - I know seeing her progress brightens everyone's day! ~ Stacy

I don't think the backpack would work for most rear leg amps... but as a front leg amp, she fits in nicely and it doesn't seem to bother her nub!
Here's to many more sniffs!!
