Hi,

The story of Kosma ended tragically, ho got sepsa, his body gave in... Thank you all for your support here.

Since last Saturday I've been a foster home for Kaja, whom I took from the local dogs & cats shelter. She had her right front leg removed due to brachial plexus palsy - she would literally eat the flesh of the disfigured limb.

She's a total sweetie, never so far have meet such a gentle dog, she's all about caressing  :-)

Will be looking for a proper home for her - I live on a 4th floor ans such a "sausage" type dog should not climb too many stairs.

Here there are some photos from the shelter, pre surgery:  http://schronis...../psiak/897

Will paste some recent ones after the weekend.

All the best,

Paulina

Oh, she's adorable. I hope she finds her furever home soon!

I'm so sorry to hear about Kosma. Sending condolences.

Jackie, Angel Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Oh that's so sad about Kosma, I'm so sorry. Thanks for letting us know, and also about Kaja. I tried clicking on the link but it doesn't work.

When she is ready for an adoption feel free to post in our "Tripawds Rescue Forum " to let everyone know. We'll try to help however we can.

Hi!

Some good news - last Sunday we drove Kaja to another city some 150 km from my home town, to a proper home  🙂   A day before got a phone call from her new "mom", we had a short chat, then an ex-director of the local shelter carried out a proper pre-adoption interview and off we go! Called Kaja this Friday and everything's fine, she got used to the new situation and doing fine  🙂

Now, I am not sure if that's the proper place to ask about a cart for a paralysed puppy. He's at a foster home (not me this time) and the detailed diagnosis is as follows: paralysis of the 13th thoracic vertebra (last one) and ilium bone. The puppy can't walk properly, he drags his rare limbs behind him.The puppy has a cart borrowed from another foster "family", but is growing out of it  🙁  They did an online research and found "Eddie's wheels". What do you think?

Hugs.

Paulina

You'll find plenty of discussion about carts and wheelchairs by searching these forums and the blogs.

You'll find link in this Tripawds News blog post to other related articles.
