It is Jake's 3 month ampuversary... well, yesterday (January 14th)! He is doing well and I am truly grateful. He will be getting his 4th and last round of chemo (cisplatin) next week. He just had his blood drawn yesterday and we haven't received the results back yet. There was a lump under his front left leg but the tech seemed to think it was a fatty tumor… I had it aspirated just to be on the safe side. I wonder what steps we will take next to keep up the fight but I will talk about it with the doc this upcoming week. I'm sure he is due for a chest x-ray soon. Jake continues to be on the K9 Immunity and Transfer Factor and mostly wet food…. Evo. He loves the duck! However, he seems to want what I'm eating more than he wants his own food these days. I try to be good by not giving him grains or sugar. Of course my boyfriend reminds me that I can't rob Jake of all of his guilty pleasures… table scraps… mmmm… I try to at least give him the healthy ones! He coughs every now and then… a big cough that seems to come from his toes. I try not to let myself get carried away with worrying about lung mets. He doesn't seem to be having a difficult time breathing right now so why go there now?
I look back to where I was 3 months ago (emotionally) with this whole journey and I just feel like I'm in SUCH a different place. Unfortunately, I DO visit that “other place” from time to time… that awful place filled with fear and guilt but I try not to let myself stay there for too long. My boyfriend reminds me that Jake is very much alive and he still very much loves to play like a puppy with his Kong and balls. He watches them roll away and believes they are alive and trying to get away from him and will then pounce on them and hold them in his mouth and carry them around everywhere! Before he goes outside, he always frantically searches for SOMETHING to carry outside with him, even if it's my slipper!
Thank you all for all of the incredible support you have given to us over the past 3 months! I will always be eternally grateful to everyone here on Tripawds! Jake sends big warm special furry hugs to all of his furry and human friends!

Thanks so much everyone for your encouragement! Jake is feelin the love! More good news - Jake's bloodwork came back A ok this week and that pesky lump under Jake's left front leg is just a fatty tumor! That was a relief! His last chemo is scheduled for next Friday Jan.23rd. Pam- I will ask our doc about the Metronomics, thanks!
The temperature up here in upstate NY has been in the negative digits for the past few days! Jake goes outside briefly with his coat on and then ends up just getting so cold that he lays down in the snow and looks at me like, “momma, I can't move another inch… my legs don't want to work when it's this cold!” I end up running out there and scooping up his hind end and cheer him on and he hops back up and runs in with me! He doesn't tolerate booties on his feet… I think they feel too awkward for him. He has always been sensitive to me even touching his adorable little paws… I always thought he was just ticklish. I'm seeing that we are expecting a heat wave tomorrow… suppose to be up to 26 degrees and more snow! Gotta love winter in the northeast!

Great news indeed, thanks for the update!
If you haven't already, be sure to read about the metronomic protocol therapy Jerry went on when we discovered his lung mets ... and the metronomic follow-up results from a couple months later.
