Ok having trouble posting, maybe this one will get through. Sorry I've been away for so long folks, I'll explain later. But Iris just hit the 60lb mark this week, and she is the best dog ever. She is awesome, I left her at my moms house over labor day weekend and she slept in her bed like they were best buds. I can take her anywhere and she minds well and then is welcome, Home Depot, a bar, my friends house, anywhere it doesn't matter. My nephew and nieces live 3 doors down and she goes bananas when they're out front, and I let her out while they play and she watches them like a hawk and I know she thinks of them as her own kids. I love this dog!

IRIS, YOU ROCK!!! You sure did hit the puppy @ottery when you chose Mike as your forever human! You are sooo loved and completely adored by him! And we love and adore you too!

You are doing an excellent job of representing tripawds everywhere! Your nieces and nephews are learning some life lessons from this brave and resilient dog that will stay with them forever.

Thank you so much for updating AND sharing that sweet picture.

Hey folks. Another long absence.. Recently I've been doing some welding work for a natural gas company and that has occupied my time. I actually made it down to Mill Valley this May 16th but I was about an hour late, and people there said some tripawds had just left an hour prior. I was so bummed! It wasn't a waste of gas though as I met a guy my family knows in Richmond, and he got me a job that unfortunately requires me to live in a trailer on the jobsite and keeps me in the stone age, but it's money. My nephew, nieces and sister have done a great job taking care of Iris while I'm gone, I get to see her every couple of weeks for a few days, that's just the way the cookie is crumbling. I should have some local work here soon.

I actually had a funny experience the other day with her. I took her to a dog park here in Sacramento, and she was playing kinda rough with the other dogs and someone said "I can't believe she gets around so well on 3 legs" so my reply was of course; "Dogs come with 3 legs and a spare " and the lady replied "But is she happy?" Not one second later Iris comes booking past the two of us with a rope in her mouth she took from another dog, trotting along like a thoroughbred in her success.

Great to hear from you Mike!

I love when our Tripawds can answer other's questions with their actions!

Sorry we missed you in May, but we are planning our next get together for November 14th, Here is the forum post.

Hopefully job and living situation will allow you and Iris to make it, we would love to meet you in person!  As the date gets closer we can exchange PM's and maybe phone numbers if you plan to come.

I'm so glad Iris is doing so well!

Hey Mike, glad you got some steady work. It's gotta be hard being away from Iris but she's a lucky gal to have such a hardworking dad. Thanks for taking the time to update.

I posted in the tripawty forum about it, but I'm back to local work doing HVAC so if the weather is good we will probably make it, but if the weather is bad I'll likely be working! Thanks for the replies folks! Off to bed!
