I don't think its strange at all that you can tell the difference between their "smells"...I can easily tell the difference between a Kodi wet spot and one of the tots. Kodi's urine is very dilute due the cushings's and theirs....isn'twinker

Finally, a chance to catch up and share information! So Mitchell had a recheck/wellness check last night and he did really well. Coincidentally, since he started the cephalexin he has had zero accidents. I brought this up to the doc as his urinalysis was negative, and she said older male and females can get "itis" like things down there. In the girls, sometimes they get vaginitis, in the boys sometimes they get irritated around the prostate area which can cause it. Not all dogs do this, but some are just more sensitive than others. So he has a week left on meds, and he is diaper free but I promised pictures big-grin

That's the whole getup. the little "suspender" is really cool. It is mostly like a Y shaped Velcro. It will hook on to any harness as long as it can reach it. I got the small one because of the size of Mitchell's harness but they make a larger one too.

Here is the suspender info. I wish I knew about this before. It would have made a huge difference. I believe it will make all the difference if/when we need to start putting the wraps back on him. I love these instructions smiley

Last picture... he had that " are you going to stop taking pictures" look, hahah

and then I got 'the look' 20190114_210611-e1547744859842.jpg

OMD I am so excited on so many levels! Mitch finished his antibiotics a little over a week ago. No accidents! I don't know why, how, and honestly right now, I am too happy to try and delve into it any further!

Down note.. he has a little growth right where the chest piece lays on his harness. I had it on him for a full week (maybe a little longer) and when I bathed him a couple of days ago I saw that it was rubbing on it and it was a little pink and a little irritated. Note that harness needs to come off and go on. I don't think it is a huge deal but I can't keep it on him 24/7.

Up note.. I ordered Dr. Buzby's Toe Grips (Thank you Paula!!) and they came in today. It literally took me less than 10 minutes to apply. I gave him 5 to chill after application and called him down for dinner. This is what happened:

In the 6+ years that we have had Mitchell, he NEVER didn't slip on the floor. Ever. When he eats, his paws slide from under him. When he stands, his paws have always slid. We have had xrays done, no apparent dysplasia. But he was in such a small area in the shelter, it just became his new normal. The only thing I didn't get.. I was not expecting it.. was how he "fast walked" over to the stairs. This is like a miracle for us. No kidding!!

If they stay on his paws and last a while I will be thrilled and re-ordering. I needed to share this because every dog should be able to walk like this, young or old.

Kodi's stay on really really well.. maybe will lose 1 or 2 in the weeks between nail trims. We take them on and off for that, but otherwise they're always on. So glad they worked for him!

I got lucky, Mitchell's nails are all xl, lol. He just came back down to go out, had his water (always, lol) did his business, and went back up. He's even noticing the difference. I did his nails and fur pads over the weekend anticipating the delivery.

I'm totally thrilled and shocked at the difference.

You can see a little shakiness in his rear legs in the video, but they are stablized.

I'm just so happy. This gives me hope.

Wow, I missed all this.  I hope Mitchell is having a good recovery.  Praying for B9.   Keep us informed.

He does look pretty relaxed now that he is home.  I know my dogs are never fully relaxed until they get home.  Sassy the day of her amputation tried to pull the vet tech out of the parking lot.  She was going home one way or another.  Did the same thing when she was spayed. Never stayed over night either times either.  I got her the same day.

He is a sweet looking boy.

Hugs

Michelle 🤗 his biopsy was benign ❤️

He was incontinent for a long time (+- 1 1/2 years)

Arthritis has set into his rear legs and we've been working on both.

Cbd settled both but recently back end weakness and more incontinence.

He had 2 weeks of cephalexin and i just got some toe grips for him, both worked!

No cancer (thank goodness) and we're finally peeing outside and not sliding on floors ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for caring ❤️

And I missed some of rhis too! Bummer!  Would not like missing  a picture of Mr Mitchell styling  his suspenders, or the added bonus of Mr Bo stylin' his shades!!😎

So glad Mitchell is "staying dry"!  Doing a happy dance for him...and you!😁

Connection bad (what a surprise) so need to come back to see video.  It played long enough for me to hear the slurp, slurp of a happy boy loving his water!

Hugs!

Just saw the whole video...WOW!!!  Not any sign of slipping, just lots of wagging tail.  And handling those steps...WOW!  I know with arthritis  that was hard on him and each step was an owwee, but he did it...because  he could!!   GOOD BOY MITCHELL!  And you are such a handsome  boy!!❤

Sally, I am truly amazed. There is no other way to describe it. I really had to think about if I wanted to spend money on things that look like little pieces of rubber.. really hard, lol. But this company is a gem. I followed their instructions getting his nails measured, followed them to the "T" applying them (it was easy peasy even with Mr. Wiggletoes, lol) and they have already emailed me ready to be of assistance if something didn't seem right!

He ate better without his feet sliding on the floor. And trust me... you guys have seen all the rugs I have thrown all over the place. I have tried hundreds of times to get him to stand on one of the runners to eat but Mitchell must be kin to Frankie, lol. He absolutely pawsitively refused it every single time.

From the very beginning of our time with Mitch he has slid. Even right after I do his nails. You can see his weakness on the stairs, and that is with the Synovi and the carprofen and CBD given faithfully. I should take stock in pill pockets, lolol. That was why the harness was so important for him, in case he has a problem. I will get it back on him and just have to make sure it comes off at night. Of all places for a stupid little growth. When I have his dental done I will look into seeing if they can take it off just because its in a bad spot. It looks like a little wart ugh

I know anybody that has a pup with sliding feet will get a lot of relief with this neat little item big-blinkIt is so nice to have things go "OUR" way for a change!
