Woah! I'm glad he's on the mend. You did a great job acting quickly!

Our Wyatt had aspiration pneumonia once but it didn't go septic.

Your Poor guy! Just relieved to know things are back to normal now. Hope the next chemo goes easily. Let us know.

Harley update - The tumor in Harley's mouth is sill in remission.  He had his 4th chemo treatment on Thursday and seems to have tolerated it well.  We have decided that is is probably going to be his last one.  I say probably but who knows because this dog keeps defying the odds.  His Lar-Par and hind-end weakness have started to progress a bit so we're going to focus more on that with acupuncture and we may start him on Physical Therapy.  I am a bit concerned with hydrotherapy though because dogs will more frequently aspirate fluids than they will solids and we want to avoid AP.  Not sure if he would keep his mouth off the water during hydrotherapy.  Chest x-rays last Thursday showed no mets from either cancer but he does have some scarring from the Pneumonia.   We feel that the GOLPP will get him before cancer will.  He has porked out a bit so I have started cutting his calories seeing he is not walking as far/burning as many calories as before.  He's been eating too well!  My back is feeling the strain of lifting his heavier weight to get him in and out of the wagon.  If that dang Petmate stroller wasn't so big (can't fit it plus two dogs in our SUV), it would be better than the wagon.   Hope everyone is doing well!

Thanks for the update, and it's a good one!  Thrilled to hear Harley is is keeping that tumor at bay.  And YAY for clear xrays!!!  Good job Harley!!!

Yeah, I can understand your concerns about the hydrotherapy.  To me, they are valid concerns.  A Rehabilitation  Specialist should be able to offer other "therapies" and other ways to strengthen his core muscles.   Many here do acupuncture  and overall seem to get good results.

Have to chuckle  about Harley "porking up".  It's so hard not to spoli a tripawd and give them treats 24/7.

Continue to make every moment the best moment  ever ....but while taking care of your back as best you can!.

Thanks again for shar9ng the good news.  Harley continues  to inspire  is all💖

Hugs

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

Harley is my hero! Thanks for letting us know how he's doing. Boy that was scary with the aspiration pneumonia!

It does sound like you are on the right track. Any reduction in weight makes a huge difference in mobility and energy.

As for hydro, that's not the only kind of therapy so definitely ask about other modalities to help him feel better, besides the acupuncture, which is awesome.

When it comes to cancer, it sounds like Harley has shown it who's boss. Way to go my furiend! I'm so happy for you and your fumily.

Oh got any photos of Harley in the stroller? Or photos in general? We'd love to see him!
