This is the first clear sign that Griffin is starting to be Griffin again! Sloooowly at first, then the routines start returning faster and faster! And we love celebrating these spectacular Return of the Sparkle!!😎
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
How terrific that the Gaba is working well for him! I love it when I read about a good pain control experience. I'm sending lotsa wishes for an easy night for both of you.
Yay for all the doggies and kitties and other critters who get to spend all day with their people. There's a silver lining to this pandemic, and it's wrapped in fur. What a gift for pet parents, we need that lovin' even more than ever. Binge watch away!
Keep us posted.

Hi Stacy
I am so happy for you that Griffin is doing better! We really have the same story. Arktik has been limping for about 2-3 weeks (a lots worse the past 2 weeks), then the diagnosis came. Surgery is tomorrow, this is going such a stressful day! But it helps reading how you guys are doing.
Keep up the the work Griffin!
Hi Patricia! Griffin and I are sending you and Arktik positive vibes and big hugs from NYC! I remember how stressed I felt the day before Griffin's surgery, but I know it was the right decision for him. His recovery has been amazing and while adapting to life on 3 legs is a big adjustment, the fact that he is not in severe pain every day gives me such peace. Please keep us all updated on Arktik's surgery and don't hesitate to reach out for support!
Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! Diagnosed with osteosarcoma on March 17, 2020, Griffin's right forelimb was amputated on April 2, 2020. Ten days later he was running and playing fetch! Lung metastasis discovered in July 2020 did not slow down Griffin and he lived joyfully for the next 7 months, passing peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. https://griffin.tripawds.com
Griffin's One Week Surgerversary Update
I cannot believe that exactly 1 week ago Griffin was in surgery having his front right leg amputated. His recovery has been amazing! As of this morning, he is officially off all pain medications. Every day he grows more stable and sure of himself. I am so impressed with how quickly he learned how to sit, lay down, and get back up again - even on slippery tile floors! Since he came home, I've been using a wagon to cart him to and from a park about a block from our apartment so that he could save all of his energy to explore the grassy area. Today was the first day that Griffin walked to the park, and as you can see in the video linked below, he was booking it!

Griffin Exploring the Park - April 9
The support and advice I have received from everyone at Tripawds has not only reassured me through stressful times, but also given me confidence as I grow into my new role as a tripawd parent to Griffin. Thank you!
Griffin practicing his new, better balanced, stance! Griffin "manspreading" this morning. The bruising which spread down his torso and covered his groin is fading and his incision is healing quickly!Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! What a JOY! We needed this great news soooo much, especially today!
He looks really good and so hoppy to be outside. I love that you used the wagon--super smart of you! You'll have to share a photo of his limo.
Would it be OK if we uploaded Griffin's videos to our YouTube channel? That is, if you don't want to start one yourself? If you do that would be great! It makes embedding videos so easy here, and lots more folks can share them. We even have a playlist for Tripawds Before and After Surgery that would be perfect for these.
Give him extra scritches and smooches from us! Bravo!
It is such an honor to be here for you, thanks for the kind words about the community.

Feel free to upload his videos! Let me know if there is anything I need to do to make that process easier. Would it be better to upload his videos and embed them here rather than linking them the way I have been doing? If so, I'll need a bit of guidance on that process.
The wagon I mentioned is the Mac Sports Collapsible Folding Outdoor Utility Wagon. Griffin hurt his leg in December and I thought he was going to need transportation for him for a while (he recovered in 2 days!), and after borrowing a neighbor's, I bought one for myself. It is really handy and folds up pretty compactly. The price varies widely between colors ($56-$109), so be sure to check them all out before making a purchase.

Oh thanks! Well honestly the easiest thing is for you to just upload them to a YouTube channel you start for Griffin. Then you can embed the code here and the video will show up in your Forum post. And then we can add the videos to our Tripawds Channel Playlists. But if you don't want to do that, I'm happy just to add them to our video collection and put your and Griffin's name as the creator.
That is a sweet ride! I know that our Wyatt Ray would jump right out of it but for a calmer dog like Griffin it's perfect.
He healed in how many days? Wow!

OK - I created a "Griffin's Journey" YouTube account and uploaded the 2 videos I linked above. However, when I try to insert them into this post, I receive an error message that "This post contains an iframe which is are disallowed". What am I doing wrong?

Hi Stacy. I'm so thrilled for you and Griffin. Again, Griffin looks fabulous and so happy. You must be so relieved. He looks like he's adjusting just fine! Just in time for the good weather Keep the videos coming...
No news on Jake, waiting for the date. Unfortunate that I had to switch surgeons but such is life.

Hmmm. I looked for the channel you made (yay!) but couldn't find it.
All you need to do is grab the video "share" link by clicking on "share" underneath your video:
Then return here and paste that link right into your post while you're writing it.
Does that help?
I'm so proud of you for starting the YouTube Channel! We'll get this figured out. I'm happy to help.

While you techies are working out how to do this video stuff, just want to say what a GREAT video that is!!
HAPPY ONE WEEK SURGERVERSARY!!👏👏👏 One week....doing this well just one week after surgery really is astounding!! Griffin really is ahead of the curve!!
That was quite a walk today. His gait seemed to flow really well Still take it sloooow and easy Mr Griffin!! Keep the cart handy as the walk back may be too tiring.
This video will be so reassuring to anyone starting this journey. 😎 Although, we'll have, to sort of do a little "disclaimer" that not every dog is this mobile and off pain meds at the first week mark. 😉😉
Pretty sure a ONE WEEK SURGERVERSARY calls for a scoop of ice cream🍦🍰🍨...or maybe a slice of cake.🥮🍰..or both!!
Thanks for sharing Griffin's amazing recovery with us
Hugs

I was getting fancy and clicking on the "insert/edit media" button on the tool bar and then adding the link. I made the channel private so that anyone with the link could view. I'm new to this and I didn't want videos of Griffin out there for just anyone to use as they wished.
Here is the first video:

Hi Sally! As always, thanks for the support and good wishes! You are right about the disclaimer. As great as Griffin is doing, he was off on his appetite all day today after that walk, so it was back to supporting local NYC restaurants so he could have fried chicken for dinner! And, he developed a pretty sizable seroma today. I sent photos to the vet who said to try warm compresses. Have I explained how much I love Animal Medical Center and Dr. Spector? He literally replied to my email within 10 minutes of me sending it tonight. He also loved the videos and cheers on Griffin every day. I feel so lucky to have such a large group of supporters throughout this process!
