Today I celebrate the 1 Month Ampuvesary of my recently adopted tripawd Finley (aka Woodley).
Rescued by the Southern California Golden Retrieve Rescue after his owners surrendered him to the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter with a HUGE erupted fibrosarcoma tumor on his front right leg. His fur was matted and filthy, his spirit low. He had been left to the back yard for a year, ignored.
Last Saturday, Finley came to live with me. He (along with Julia, aka Heather, another tripawd) adopted me in effort to help me heal from the death of Jake. I was given a gift that someone else threw away. My treasure was someone's trash. Sad, but true.
One month ago, Finley began his new life when his diseased leg (and shoulder blade) was removed.
So, Happy Ampuvesary Finley! Here is to many more Ampuversaries... and days at the dog park, and cuddles on the couch, chasing balls, laying in the sun, ripping up suffies, chewing rawhides, and inspiring all that meet you! You are the legacy of Jake! Thank you for saving me.
Hoppy Ampuversary Finley. You will do great following in your big brother Jake's footsteps. Thanks for helping your mom to heal a little

Hoppy Hoppy Ampvuersary Finley! You are so strong and stoic, I'm sorry you went through such hard times. But thank you for not thinking all humans are horrible and giving them a second chance. You found your furever family, nothing bad will ever happen to you again. You are loved!

Hi Finley! Welcome to the pack! I've been following your story on FB and I'm just beaming with happiness for you! You and your sis and your mom all need each other and will learn and grow together. Yippeee! Hoppy 1 month, you handsome, handsome guy!
ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
Happy Ampuversary, Finley!! What a wonderful tripawd warrior!!
Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.
