Hello All,

we have permission from the moderators to post on here Smiley

We created a website to share the story of our dog Diesel. Unfortunately with 4 bad legs he is on a one way road, too quickly having just turned 2 years of age. Diesel is a rottweiler, and suffers multiple hereditary conditions that are cutting his life short.

We welcome articles from owners, trainers, health professionals etc to promote education in breeding and puppy purchasing. Please take the time to visit our website, and before you breed or get another puppy, remember Diesel

thanks

Julie

Julie,

Thank you for sharing Diesel's story.  It is a story that is far to often repeated by indiscriminate breeding, people who want a bargain pure breed dog, and owners who are trying to recover the cost of their pet.  My first dog came from the Anti-Cruelty Society of Chicago and was with me for more than 17 years.  Since then I have had pure Standard Poodles and gone the extra mile to make sure that I only worked with quality breeders who were interested in the quality of the breed and not profit.  There are problems eneough with working with such quality breeders.

My wife and I will share Diesel's story, but since our friends already know about such stories and feel just like us, it is unclear how much broader this effort will distribute the message.  However, we will do everything possible to help get the word out.  Thanks again for documenting Diesel's story and helping to shed light on the serious problem.  If even one animal can be spared from such a situation, I will feel that we have won a small battle in the huge war.

Thank you Cherry

I made this as a black and white, in your face for those people who will hear it and then 'ahhh yeah right!' type attitude! Proof is here for people to read and see and as a resource for people to pass onto those who dont believe it until they see it.

It is wonderful you had your dog for 17 years, wow! My last shepherd was 14 years old, it passes so quickly though doesnt it!
