I'm going to need Riot's help trying to properly train two. He certainly taught me all I need to know. I would get one, but I have to be realistic with Czar. I don't know how long before the cancer spreads. I'm hoping he gets much longer than Riot did. The 26th will be two months post amputation for him.

2 pups... goodness, hahah! We tried that with Bo and his sister but they came from a bad situation and both needed attention so desperately that we ended up having to separate them. His sister was getting really aggressive with him and the cats ... broke my heart but I knew it was for the best. He still has a scar on his nose from where she nailed him while he was trying to eat smiley5

Fingers crossed that Czar does well with his treatment, and I hope you start to feel better really soon!  Your dad sounds like a sweet man, glad you have him to help you out.

Glad we got a warm break, looks like the cold weather is coming back though. Looking at New England forecast and brrrrr.....  stay warm and cuddled up with your handsome boy sp_hearticon2

Hugs,

Jackie, Bo, Andy, Oscar, Phoebe, and the coolest feral tripawd kitty Huckleberry

Yes, it will be a lot of work, but I'm not sure whether I'll go through rescue or not this time. We'll see. So far Czar seems okay. Extra tired, but 6 hours away from home is a lot for him these days. He ate most of his breakfast, which is good.

I'm glad we got that warm break. It's definitely winter now. Thankfully Czar likes snow, because here it comes. My parents have both been awesome through this whole cancer mess. My dad knows I can't really leave work much right now, and I really didn't want to wait any longer for Czar to start chemo. From here on, I can do drop off appointments locally. He's much more go with the flow than Riot was, so hanging out at the vet for a bit is just an opportunity for more belly rubs. If he starts having trouble, I'll switch to waiting with him. One chemo down, four to go.

Extra brownie points for your dad and extra belly rubs for czar❤ its so wonderful that you have family to support you both.

2 puppies sounds like an adventure! Hopping you can take sometime for yourself come spring. Work stinks when it gets hectic like that. You and Czar so deserve a little mental hiatus. And some puppy theatrics!

Stay warm, i hear we have quiet a bit of snow coming tomorrow for Czars rolling pleasure 😉

My sweet soulmate Roane was diagnosed with osteo in June of 2019. Had a rear leg amp on July 2nd & crossed the rainbow bridge to be with her sister Gypsy on the first day of Autumn Sept 23 2019.

Wooohoo! Here's to knocking out that first chemo session! Give your Dad a big hug from us, we are so happy he's on Team Czar smiley_clap

I'm glad he's OK going to the vet and not showing side effects. He seems like such an easy dog.

Yes. I'm glad Czar likes snow. I'm no fan, but weather wise we've pretty much lucked out so far. I'll pass on all of the kind well wishes to my dad. Stay warm. Real winter is here.

Czar really is an easy boy. So far he's still eating well. He perked up. He was pretty deflated after yesterday. It was a long day for him.

He'll be happy to play in it tomorrow. Unfortunately he has a big stitch poking out from his incision. It's been two months since his amputation. We go to the vet Thursday, so hopefully he can get it out.

No new Czar pictures. I need to do that. He had his local oncologist consult today. His lungs sounded clear, but we don't really know without xrays. He gets his second dose in two weeks. If he's still stable, we get more xrays before his third round in 5 weeks. I wish the vet hadn't pointed out the location of his tumor, upper leg, lowers favorable prognosis. I already knew that, and she knows that Riot died of the same cancer just a month ago, in the same building. I'm doing my best, with a terminal cancer. I don't have a lot of faith in chemo honestly, it sure didn't help Riot. But I have to try. That's the same reason I got Czar the Yale vaccine. No guarantees, but since chemo didn't help Riot, I had to try something else as well.

On a different note, if I can work it out with my boss, I'll be bringing two puppies home on March 15th. Riot's birthday. We pick them up then, and make it home on the 16th, my birthday. Finger's crossed I can make it work.

Yay for clear lungs! That's terrific! I hope the great news continues. smiley_clap

I wish the vet hadn’t pointed out the location of his tumor, upper leg, lowers favorable prognosis.

If it's any help, you can put that theory aside. I'm not a vet but I do believe that theory has been disproven over the years. And from what we've seen here, there's really no rhyme or reason as to how cancer plays out. You just never know.

YAY for the new puppies! Riot will pick them out just for you. What a great gift to the pack.

I didn't much believe her when she said that. Riot's cancer was supposedly a "better" location in his hock. I'm hoping to prove her wrong again, but in the other way this time. They sound clear, but we don't know. Riot's lungs sounded clear the day his mets were found. I'll just keep an eye on him, and we'll go in if anything changes. He's still Czar. Not eating as well as I'd like, and he refuses to go on walks. We're both still grieving. He's starting to bounce back more and more. Definitely still loves all people. I had no idea how hard it would be to walk back in the vet's office. Poor Czar was trying to make me feel better.

I'm hoping the cancer stays away, and he gets to be a great big brother for a long time to come. I'm hoping some of Riot's legacy comes out in the puppies. He was never a puppy fan, so I don't feel like he's missing out on this particular experience.

I can't blame you one bit for questioning everything. It's like when your world is turned upside down not once, but twice, nothing makes sense anymore. (((hugs)))

Czar is your feel better angel! Just wait till those puppies come home to you two, the joy is going to be felt all around the world 🙂

2 puppies on Riot's birthday, what a gift sp_hearticon2 Were they able to get that stray suture out for you?

I understand how hard it is going back to the vet office. We went in for Bo's annual physical before Christmas and that was the first time we had been since Mitchell passed. I never thought of it until we walked through the door, then it hit me like a sucker punch. We have been there so many times for Mitch, Bo, Andy, and Oscar ... I did not realize the impact it would have on us, but it did.

I hope Czar's lungs stay clear a good long time. Sending you all big hugs, lots of love, and please give Czar a good ear rubbing for mesp_hearticon2

Hugs,

Jackie, Bo, Andy, Oscar, Phoebe, and the coolest feral tripawd kitty Huckleberry
