Czar got his second Yale vaccine last week. Now he gets two blood draws to check his immune response. We start chemo in 3 weeks. I was hoping for sooner, but every oncologist is backed up. He still looks for Riot. On some level, I'll always as well.
CZAR! I wish I could show you how big my grin is plastered across my face right now!!!😁😁😁 Seeing you soooo happy and so carefree taking a glorious back scratching roll in the snow just. Ights up my world!!😎
We know yoj and your mom miss Riot, as we all do. We also know you probably feel his presence every now and then because his energy still surrounds you and protects you😊 He may have visited your mom in her dream state, even if she didn't realize it.
I'm glad you didn't give your mom any "extra challenges" during recovery. She sure didn't need thst... nor did you!
Thanks for the update and fun video! You clearly are enjoying your handsome self!!!
Hugs

This was the hoppiest video I've seen all day! Look at that boy enjoy the new snow! YEAH!
How exciting and hopeful that he's getting the vaccine. Between that and the chemo that's coming, cancer better pack its bags and get out. Czar is kickin serious but.
So yeah you were saying on Instagram that there's an oncologist shortage in New England eh? I had no idea.
I'm sure he's still grieving for his brother. I don't doubt that animals feel a big loss like that. They get used to the routines and their constant companion just as we do. It's something that only time helps to heal. I wish I could make it easier for you guys. (((hugs))))

Czar looks very content and happy in the video, I'm glad he is so comfortable.
When Tri-Pug Maggie passed her little sis Tani was really out of sorts. With the exception of a few days after Maggie's amp Tani had NEVER spent a day as an only dog, Tani was almost 10 when Maggie left us. She looked for Maggie, I would find her laying in places she never went, she was not interested in walks or the park.
She started to come around after a few weeks. I had plans to adopt after Maggie left because I was pretty sure Tani would have problems. It's not the best solution for many but it was the way I went, Pug boy Obie joined us 5 weeks after Mag passed.
I know the Holidays must have been tough for you guys.

Czar has never been an only dog either. I think he'll make a great big brother. I'm not ready yet. I've done the new dog in the winter thing, and I don't have the energy for that again. Or the time right now. I'm hoping I can expand my family in the spring or summer, depending on how Czar is feeling of course.
And how are YOU doing with all that pneumonia crap? Do you have any video of you rolling around in the snow😉

My lungs are badly beat up. I'm an asthmatic, although it hasn't effected my life much the last 10 years. So, I'm probably stuck with a cough until spring. I've finished the antibiotics and steroids. I have an inhaler I have to use a few times a day so my lungs don't seize up. Hopefully, we don't have a brutal winter like last year. So far the storms came early, and the cold has been about average. February will tell the tale.
Oh gosh please take care of yourself OK? When spring comes, you need all your energy if you're gonna bring that little sibling pup into the pack 😉
Chemo time will be here before you know it.

He has a blood draw on Thursday to check his immune response from the vaccine. Thankfully I don't have to drive 6+ hours, as my local vet can overnight it. I'm hoping Czar is still doing well enough come spring to bring a new pup into the home. I may get two, so I don't have to do this again so soon. I may be able to convince my bosses to let me have a puppy or two at work, as most of the company switched buildings months ago. The accounting team, which I'm on, has been in the old building. We're supposed to move at the end of the month. They may let me work here for a few months, until the new addition(s) can go to daycare once in a while.
Oh that would be SO COOL if your bosses will allow it! I can't think of a better way to work than to have puppy breath in my office 😉
Did you get to learn anything about Czar's test results?

I was able to make an appointment with Czar's vaccine oncologist for next Thursday. It's only a week before his other scheduled chemo, but I'm trying to give him the best chance possible. It's a 5-6 hour drive, but my dad offered this time. I'm not allowed to take any time off work as we're moving to a totally new accounting system, and we have our quarterly audit. I'm thankfully allowed to take a few hours in 2 weeks for his local appointment. Now the appointment in two weeks will be for a consultation and chest xray, so I can do the next 4 chemos local. I'm hoping for a strong immune response from the vaccine, but I won't know until after he gets his last blood draw in a month. They're backed up in the lab, so results will take a bit. If it's low, we have to do another shot.
Thanks for the informative updates we can follow along on his vaccine journey.
Give your Dad a big "thank you" from us too.❤
Bummer you have to work so much, especially while trying to keep yourself healthy and rested.

Yay for the earlier appointment! This is all working out well, giving Czar every chance in the world to kick some more cancer butt!
Yeah your busy season is starting up. By the time it gets going full speed, Czar's situation will be totally under control. Hang in there.
