Lots of healing wishes for Coco Bear. We are all here for you!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
We are sending Coco Bear nothing but pawsitive wishes & prayers; good luck on the surgery.
Chuck & Rusty
Rusty is a Labradoodle who was diagnosed with level 3 Fibrosarcoma on January 16th, 2010 and had his left hind leg amputated on January 25th, 2010 five days before his 18 month birthday. Please see Rusty's blog @rusty.tripawds.com. He is putting up one heck of a fight against this terrible disease.
We're thinking about you both and wishing the best for Coco Bear!
Lisa
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Hi Cocoa Bear
Gosh - you seem to have so much in common with me! I am sorry you have those nasty sores that burst, but glad they aren't huge. My SubQ tumour did not get inflamed or burst until it was rather enormous (think small watermelon), and at that point it was just too large to consider operating. In any case, until my subQ lump was that large, I went along as happy as a lark. Given yours is much smaller, removing it sounds like an appropriate thing for you to do, and I hope once you get back on your feet, you continue to be happy and hearty.
Thank you all for your pawsitive support and wishes. I noticed Cocos updated didn't post after her surgery (sorry). She did great after surgery. Bounced back within days. It gave her some extra time, but unfortunately not a lot. We made sure to take her out to the lake, spend every night on the couch with her, and giver her lots of love. Oh and we found out she loves apple pie! Her cancer is so aggressive. It's a nerve cell cancer that has just attacked her. But we have an amazing girl, she is officially not a tripawd....she's a bipawd...lol yep we have pictures!! She has managed to manuever on her front and rear left side. It's something with this nerve cell that has caused nerve damage on her right side. Unfortunately, it has also grown back on her belly the soft tissue cancer. So now we know our days are limited. I have read the forums on loss and we struggle with deciding when it's the right time. She still perks up when we walk in the room, still will jump on a couch, but we know in her eyes our days are down to hours. I'm going to talk with her vet tomorrow and go over our options. A few months ago my 14 yr old pomapoo went to sleep in my arms and never woke up, I had my 15 yr old cat do the same thing, i've never had to take my friend in to the vet 🙁
Thank you for letting us know...our heart breaks for all of you, we are so sorry things aren't turning out the way we all hope and pray they will when a new member joins us.
Your beautiful Coco Bear is truly amazing, the way she is coping with this sad turn of events is just heroic. Even when experiencing the hardest of conditions, dogs endure, they live each second as if it were their last. Oh the things humans can learn!
Remember though that you are just as brave and one awesome human for doing all you can for this girl and being there up to the end. I'm so sorry you are going through this sad time. We are here for you, please let us know how we can help OK?

I am so sorry to hear about Coco Bear. Trouble's last week or two was pretty much as a bipawd also. I know what you are going through and my heart is with you. In her last few days she just couldn't do it any more and I couldn't bear the thought of her suffering.
They are amazing, and resilient and we learn so much from them. Never stop believing as hard as the tripawd journey is (where cancer is concerned) you have been blessed to be able to make this journey with Coco Bear.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

I am so sorry that this is the final days and times for Coco Bear. She has the best of all things though, she has your love and the here and now. I hope you can hang onto that and know that we are praying for peace for you both.

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us. Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.
Coleen,
Thank you for posting the update (to the vanishing update?) and letting us know. On the one hand, I'm happy Coco Bear did well with the other surgery because I know how anxious you were about it. On the other hand, I'm so sorry her cancer is do damned aggressive. It is obvious you two love each other dearly and this is hard. I wish she could choose her time, as your other friends did, and just curl up and go to sleep beside you. That is what I will wish and pray for: That you don't have to pick the time, and that she will have peaceful last days.

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

Our heart goes out to you. Enjoy the time you have and we are all here for you when the time comes. It's never easy.

Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog
Thank you for all of the support, today I visited the vet and made all of the arrangements to bring Coco Bear in on Thursday afternoon. Her quality is quickly deteriating and I want to make sure her last days are not miserable. Let me tell you...mine are. But I also have two children 11 and 15 that I need to make sure I set an example of humanity and compassion for them. We love with all our hearts in this family, especially for our furry family members. It definitely makes a difference through all of this when you have a compassionate vet. As I read through other posts I don't know how I could of done it if I didn't have such a wonderful relationship with the friendly people of our vets office.
I will be back in a day or two...oh and coco had her own piece of apple pie tonight!
