Hey everyone, just wanted to post an update on our Buddy.  Monday 2/2 was 3 weeks post-op and Buddy has done very well!  We are taking him out twice a day for just little walks like 100 yards or so and neighbors are coming out and giving him lots of love so I think that helps.  He isn't coming upstairs yet to sleep with us we have many steps so we just let him stay downstairs.  He doesn't really try to come up either but we can't wait til he does.  His scars healed great and finally his hair is growing back! ha

He started his 1st dose of Chemo today, Carboplatin.  The vet said it may take 2 to 4 days to see any side effects such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea and gave us medicine to help control that.  We dropped him off at 9am and my husband picked him up around 4.  He was very much himself and even wanted to walk around outfront for a while when he got home.  He ate really well tonight but then he got really restless.  We let him outside and he stayed for about 30 mins came in, laid on his bed and is out.  We also give him and Blue a milk bone at night but Buddy didn't even want that tonight.  I know it's probably because of the treatment but it's strange for him not to want a treat.  He doesn't go back for another 3 weeks for his next dose of chemo.

He is laying beside me now on his bed snoring away and his paws are just jumping.. must be a great dream! Probably running after that squirrel, his favorite thing to do!  Just wanted to let everyone know whats going on.  Keeping everyone in our thoughts & prayers!

You get that squirrel, Buddy! I can see the paws flying!

Thanks for the update Missy, that's a wonderful report. How great to hear that his recovery is going so well. It sounds like yeah, he's just pooped out from everything right now. Remember, he's been through so much. Keep an eye on him and try not to let him overdo things. That should help speed up the recovery.

Keep us posted on how he handles the carboplatin. If you need anything, we're here for you.
