We are 7 weeks post amputation now!!!
I can hardly believe it has been 7 weeks since Bubba started his journey as a tripawds. He continues to thrive and is just a happy boy. He loves his massages and stretching sessions everyday., and of course, his food. Breakfast is by far his favorite meal, as this is when he gets all the yummy veggies, and raw meats. We haven't had him out on the trails lately due to the 14+ plus inches of snow we got and continue to get each day. It takes much of his energy to plow through the deep snow and I don't want to be stuck out on a trail somewhere and he poops out, it's not like I can carry his large but back to the jeep. He does continue to enjoy playing in the snow in the back yard.
As I type this I'm listening to both pooches snore, as they sleep off their food comas. Today's breakfast consisted of:
Shredded Cabbage, one raw carrot, per dog, one chicken liver, per dog, one raw turkey meatball, per dog, 1/2 cup of low fat cottage cheese, salmon oil, and 3/4 cup dry kibble. Bubba also gets his Armore Up, and glucosamine. Today's afternoon snack will consists of one raw chicken, leg per dog. Dinner is much more boring, just some dry kibble.
Bub had a vet check up and still no signs of the cancer spreading and blood work looks good. He certainly gets "LOTS" of attention now that he has three legs, lol. And let me tell you, he soaks it up. He actually showed a gal struggling with having her dog needing amputation due to OSA. When she saw how happy Bubba is and how he gets around like nothing. She is going to go ahead and have the surgery.
Anyhow, I just wanted to update on Bubs progress.

Thank you Petra and Stewie!
Indeed, it is amazing how the universe aligns and puts us in certain situations for reasons unbeknownst to us at the time. And yes, he truly is an amazing therapy dog. As each days passes Bubba continues to teach us just how strong he is and how lucky we really are.

Thank you 😊 Stewie is doing incredibly well! I was just saying to a friend that I can’t believe that Stewie is coming up to his 7 Month Ampuversary! (Yup, he’s getting his blog ready...😉) He has already beaten the odds and he is hopping into the future with massive hopes of becoming a Warrior! An old age Warrior like Nitro! We love him to the moon 🌙 and back!
Big hugs to Bubba please! He really is a gorgeous boy!
Handsome boy!!!! Ava sends him kisses today!
We've had a busy week as we adopted an 8 month old German Shepherd named Onya (Bubba would love her!) in need of home and life has been crazy with our pack! Work in progress with Ava and JJ - taking things slow with them all. Ava is our queen 🙂
Hugs and so glad he is doing well!
Beautiful! 🙂
