Hi, everyone!
Brady had his first chemo treatment yesterday. He also had his staples removed, so he can return to normal activity (finally!!!)
The Oncologist was very happy with how well he looks and how playful he is. Brady loves to flirt with the girls at the front desk and the CVT's He has really stolen their hearts in just two visits.
I was okay all day yesterday, although nervous. Last night, I broke down again and just cried while he slept. It was 2 weeks ago today we got the news of Brady's diagnosis. I need to keep it together.... for him. He's been so brave and does everything he should. I'm so proud of him. He is truly a hero. He is my life and I will do anything to help him beat this stupid cancer.
I have posted his picture on the Tripawds Facebook Page .... I'm still trying to figure out how to post pictures here from a phone and tablet
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!!!!! Love you all!
Melanie, Brady & Ginger
Brady is truly a tripawd hero!
Good for you that you "held it together" until Brady was sleeping.....the first few weeks are really rough on us humans but Brady just knows that he is no longer in pain and is looking to you for unconditional love and support which I can tell he gets from you
Make sure you take care of yourself too.....Sally always recommends chocolate....but you can pick your own pleasure.
Merry Christmas to you, Brady and Ginger too.
Hugs
Linda and Tucker
I'm so thrilled he's got that first treatment done and stitches out!!
I'm also thrilled we've got another TABLET user!! All I can say isyou can't post pictures on here the way regular computer people can. If you can put them on photobucket, you can "copy" the URL on the banner across the specific pic you want. Then you co e over to the forum and "paste" it into your post. You just tap the screen on a line all by itself, wait for the word "paste" to show...then tap twice. You have to watch and see where the link shows up though, because someti es it'll just show up in the middleof a sentence.
YAAAAAAY for tablets!
My only little suggestion for the day is, again, stay fuly present with Brady. Anytime you visit the "what if's" or the "wishing it was different", you are robbing yourself of this most joyous time with Brady. It is soooooooo hard, I know! You are doing realky, really well.
So in addition to the chocolate mentioned, give yourself a great vig hug!! Yes, NOW! Realy, I'm watching! Okay....here goes.....a big one now and sah "Good job Melanie!" YAAAAAAY! That was pwrfect!

Glad to hear Brady is doing so well. We all break down & cry. I just did it when I wasn't around Sassy in another room or in the shower. The shock of the diagnosis, amputation & chemo all gets to us at different times and is very normal to break down & cry. Like Sally said remember he doesn't know he has cancer so live in the moment and don't rob yourself of any time with him. There is not time stamp on anyone.
Hugs

That's SO pawesome he's kickin' cancer's butt! YAY!
Two weeks is not a long time to go from diagnosis to chemo. It can make anypawdy's head spin, it's a very emotional experience, who can blame ya for crying? Be strong and don't cry away from Brady, that will help him to feel more confident.
Meanwhile here's your beautiful boy!
As for putting photos here while you're on a phone or tablet, as of now that functionality isn't there but hopefully in January it will be. For now, if you use a site like Photobucket to upload your pics, you can use the photo embed URL to post here in the Forums (see these instructions for how to place photos).
