Well, I was so sure that I didn't want another dog yet... since I am still grieving over Jake... But my hubby (who I can never trust to go shopping alone!) just called me and said he was at Pet Co... and they had some kittens there from a rescue organization... He fell in love with one of them and called me to see if we can get it... I kept saying no, no, no!! But then he sent me several pictures of it...
The logical part of me started thinking about our older cat, Ping-Pong... who has been devastated since our last kittie passed away a few years ago. We used to have 3 cats... then Alexis (a black long hair) passed away when she was 17 yrs old... and Sabre (a Maine Coone) was 21. Ping-Pong hasn't left his room since we lost Sabre... so we, and Jake and Wolf would have to go into his room to play with him every day... and Wolfie sooo needs a new buddy... but I just can't bring myself to even think about another dog... but a cat? Well, that seems a bit easier... I don't know... So I told my husband that I'm leaving the decision up to him... but the more I think about it, the more I'm OK with it. That kittie would have the most loving and awesome family if she came home to live with all of us... and then maybe one day... another doggie!
So, hubby is out there... making all the arrangements with the rescue organization, and in the next half hour or so... our home will be turned upside down, for sure! Wolfie is a pretty excitable dog... and Ping-Pong is old (14yrs)... I'm expecting some chaos... but we've always had some chaos when introducing a new family member...
So, I guess I'll be posting some pictures soon...

Pawesome! Yoda always wanted a kitty (sigh).
Hopefully a new little kitty will help lift the whole family's spirits. If it only lifts your husband's, well that's a start Good for you for being strong enough to give it a chance!

Jake's Mom,
I had to laugh when I read your post. My husband is also wanting a new cat! We still have two dogs and a cat, a (small) alligator and four snakes. He saw a cat about three who was abandoned eight months ago and has lived at the vet since then. I am also leaving the decision to him. I don't know if I hope for the same outcome that you are having or if I hope we dont add to our family. We are not really cat people, we only have a cat because my son's girlfriend had to get rid of hers.
Enjoy your new kitty! I bet it will perk Wolfie up!

We have no kitties at our house, but that sounds like a great plan for you. All things happen for a reason, it was your fate to find a new kittie.

Well... the kittie has been home now for several hours, and Wolfie hasn't eaten her... but he sure is licking her every chance he gets. Yay! A new squeaky play toy for him!! I've posted more pictures and some videos of her and Wolfie on Jake's blog.
So far we think we'll be calling her Selina, after the catwoman character... but that might still change in the next couple of days. I really wish that Jake was still here... because I know he would have liked her too!
I'm actually happy... I didn't think I would be but I am...

My Mommy says that the kitty is a GREAT idea, and she is so hoppy that the little critter is bringing love and light into your lives. That silly Jake, there he goes, working his magic again.
Some things are just meant to be. You're off to a new adventure....cheers!

Pretty stripes and coloring too. Give her and for me because she looks so squishy you just want to hug her, hehehe.
Best of luck to you.
