Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly. His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.
Sickened and shocked. Cannot believe what I just read. Like everyone here, I am devastated and heartbroken.
I can't find any words right now. I knkw there aren't any anyway.
This does happen every now and then and it absolutely kicks us in the gut. We know every surgery has risks, but we are forced to give it a try because of this piece of crap disease. We HAVE to try.
This is the saddest thing to hear. I'm just so very, very sorry. I want to come back when the tears aren't falling so hard.
There is one thought that Jerry always shares. The past hours before transition were just a blink of the eye co.lared to the thousands and thousands of happy days you and Asti shared. Hold on tightly to those memories.
Surrounding you with all our love and Asti's eternal grace..

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Thank you very much.. that means a lot. We are just absolutely devastated. The forums and chat have definitely helped a bit so I thank everyone for the words of encouragement and advice. We were just as shocked. Of course there has been some regret about the decision we made but I also know that I did not want her in pain if we did not proceed with the amp. We really don't know exactly where things went wrong besides the fact that her heart rate shot up to 250 after she had collapsed. Maybe the cancer had spread to heart or brain or maybe not. No matter how horrible she was feeling when we arrived, she still tried to get up and greet us or even try and come with us and I will never forget that. We did have many many many great days together. She was the most gentle, sweetest, best dog we could have ever asked for and we are lucky that we had her in our lives. The situation is absolutely crushing but I am hoping time will heal.
PopJust letting you know we are all still here for you. You and Astiare family.
We understand the bond you shared and how wonderful it was to have that sweet gentle Soul in your life. You now have her nestled safely forever in your heart.
When you can and if you are up for it, we would love to see pictures and hear more about the adventures you shared. If you need help adding photos, just let us know.
Have you had any "signs" or "messages" yet? Pay attention...she'll be connecting. It may take awhile because the dogs pawty hard when they first get to the Bridge because they feel soooooo good!!
Sending lots of love
