Well, unfortunately the pathology confirmed his OSA has spread to his side.
His oncologist is researching options. We'll go from there. Leaning Palladia at this point.
Cancer can go **** itself.
David and Rocky (and Baxter now too!)
Rocky had his right front leg amputated on Valentine's Day 2017 after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma.
He joined the September Saints on September 3, 2017.
He is the toughest, bravest, sweetest and best friend I'll ever know.
Well that just sucks!!! Unusual crap that is really rare sure seems to be showing up a lot around here! Yes, go "f" youself indeed you nasty pice of s**t disease!!!
Rocky is not showing any signs of slowing down and that's important! 🙂 Remember, nothing has changed in Rocky's world! You must not let anything interfere with your time together! And make no mistake about it, you do have lots of time together! Rocky has no intention of going anywhere anytime soon. He is j enjoying his loving and spoiling and ice cream way too much 🙂 🙂 there will be a time to grieve, but not while Rocky is by your side living life to the fullest!
It looks like Palladia is being recommended by several O cos for different scenarios arpund here. Maybe that's a good sign!
ROCKY IS NOT A STATISTIC AND HE DOES NOT HAVE A TIMEFRAME STAMPED AMPNYWHERE ON HIS FLUFFY BUTT OF HIS!! Rocky is a fighting Warrior ! And besides, he has The Rocky Fan Club here cheering him on!!
BTW is Rocky Balboa his hero?? Cause he sure just may be the Rocky Balboa of the doggy world! 🙂
Now go give him a treat and watch oow happy that makes him 🙂 🙂 Yeah, he's a happy boy and that's all that matters!
Lots of higs
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Thanks Sally. Your optimism is always appreciated.
We're going to keep fighting this piece of crap disease. And regardless of the end result, we're going to win.

Some of the attitude is bravado, but we're trying to stay positive.
We're leaning Palladia right now. But his oncologist is also looking into Dastanib (she said it may be hard to get) and Penn is testing a vaccine that aids the immune system and may help the body fight the OSA. I'm pretty sure this is what she's looking at https://www.vet.....teosarcoma.
Radiation therapy could be an option down the line. I asked about surgery to remove the tumors, but more will likely grow. And, at least for now, the tumors can actually be helpful in determining if treatments are working. She's measured them, so now we'll be able to see if they continue growing or not.
She's also looking into metronomics . For now, we've decided to save the Doxorubicin as a last-ditch effort due to Rocky's previous heart worm injections.

I'm so sorry to hear this news but no, never give up! Rocky hasn't given up! He is such a precious boy. He reminds me of my sweet Spaniel Ali, who passed away in 2003. I still miss her.
Rocky has the fighting spirit, having beaten heartworms, and so do you. The Penn vaccine sounds promising, as does the radiation. We are thinking of you and hoping for the best for your sweet boy!

Zato was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in October 2016. He triumphed through radiation and amputation with dignity and grace. After living a life of love and happiness, Zato earned his angel wings on February 19, 2018. Read his story here.
You are definitely keeping a good attitude and I agree, it's a mixture of bravado and pawsitivity that keeps hope in your heart. Good work!
A handful of Tripawds have gone through Dr. Mason's cancer vaccine and had good results. I hope this is an option for Rocky too. This Tripawds blog post discusses the HER-2 vaccine trial she ran.
