I haven't been able to find info on symptoms if cancer has spread to lymph-nodes? Anyone have any experience with this? What are the tests that are run to check for this besides biopsy, Roman has multiple fatty tumors so would finding new lumps be a bad sign? His lung x-rays were clear at the time his leg was amputated. ALSO His gums look pale but he doesn't seem lethargic, I'm wondering if he could be a little anemic, he has a seroma that is still draining, could this cause a slight anemia?

The only way to check for lymph node metastasis is through an aspirate or biopsy of the node. In general the prognosis is worse if the cancer is already in the draining lymph node at the time of amputation although I could not give you a time frame since cancer seems to spread at different rates in different dogs.
A seroma should not cause pale gums but sometimes pain meds such as narcotics can decrease blood pressure and cause gums to look pale. If the amputation site seems swollen there is also the possibility of a leaking blood vessel but a big dog has to lose a lot of blood to look pale so that is unlikely.
