I loved life as a tripawd for over three years following right forelimb amputation due to an aggressive and recurrent hemangiopericytoma. I reclaimed my place among the gods and valkyries in Valhalla on November 11th, 2020. My parents miss me tremendously, but I know they'll keep me in their hearts forever... and don't worry, I've approved my mom's use of my Tripawds account.

Hi Sweet Cotton and Mum,
Just reading through this now, and so glad Cotton's painful leg is gone! And he's already walking around, that's amazing! Would to see a photo.
I think Holly mentioned my post earlier with the 12 year old cat Tom - surgery was about a month ago, and I can honestly say it's the best thing we could have done for him. You also said Cotton is a larger cat with big bone structure - Tom is fairly large guy as well, I personally felt that his broad shoulders have helped him be more stable (he had his front left leg amputated). He also lost a fair amount of weight within the first week of surgery, so I guess it helps to have some to lose?
I hope recovery is going well sounds like there are no hiccups yet. I guess all kitties deal with it differently, I had a relatively easy time with Tom, but you have access to a wealth of expertise on this forum in case of any hiccups!
All the best to you both

Thanks to everyone for the support. I’ve got it on my list to get a photo of Cotton up soon. 🙂
We got some encouraging news today - the results of his bone biopsy. While it is osteosarcoma, it doesn’t appear to have spread into his blood vessels so they said there is only a 20% chance it spread to any other parts of his body. They didn’t see any signs of it in the X-ray either. So that means we very well may have cured him!! They said if we don’t see any issues after 6 months then we can consider him cured. Cotton is back to himself, happy as can be. And he gets his stitches out today!
Big thanks to those that posted the T-shirt tips and litter box tips. 🙂 came in handy!
and to Paka Tom and his mum, love to hear that another senior kitty is doing so great! Yay!
