Hello Jim, Rene and wild boy Wyatt
Glad to see a happy-faced Wyatt in this last picture. It says it all (relief). Glad to see your news - missed a few pages of postings and worry the last few days. Nothing like absence to make the heart grow fonder for your crazy boy. Enjoy his homecoming and may he be just as loud and raucous as he ever was.
Susan
Uncertainty is no fun, but so glad he gets to come home! I know you guys will feel much better having him with you, and he'll probably feel better too - being home is so much more conducive to healing than being stuk at the hospital. Paws crossed that those antibiotics take care of things!
Wooooohooooo!!!! I'm freeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
OK people, didja miss me? Well I missed YOU. Looks like some things got outta control when I was away. Rest assured though things will be back in order just as soon as I'm done taking all my Tramadol. I don't get to do much on that stuff, it's like crack, makes me crazy!
Well, people, I DON'T HAVE CANCER!!!!! WOOO HOOOOO!
But one week in the hospital was no resort vacation lemme tell you. All I got was this goofy ring around my neck, a shaved butt, and a big huge bandage on my rear. Oh and stitches near my uh, anus. Owwwwww!
I gotta go back in two weeks to get my stitches looked at. In the meantime, Mom and Dad get to change my bandage every single day. If I get poop on it we're in big trouble. Oh we'll all have a GREAT time with that one. The bandage stays on my butt with some crazy loops that were sewn into my flesh. My flesh, people!
Then in 30 days the doc says another crazy test where they get me all dopey (ultrasound or something) is in order. Says that they want to know if all the pills I'm taking have helped my body heal from the foreign invasion. Geez I hope so, because if it didn't work, they're talking antibiotics for several months and then maybe more knives and stitches if they don't work. They better work!
In the meantime, we'll be hanging out in Texas for all of December. That's OK though. The weather is nice and I like these Aggies here, they're pretttttty awesome.
So thank you, thank you, thank you. You all made my people get all teary-eyed with all of your super nice letters and stuff. And you made me very hoppy too! Thank you soooooo much.
And now it's time for a nap. I'm so tired. zzzzzzzzz

So glad that you're home, Wyatt! I hope those meds work and that everything goes smoothly with the bandage. Sorry about the donut but it does look quite dashing (if that makes you feel any better!). It sure is better than the cone of shame .
Yay for no cancer!!!!! That's the biggest "yay" of them all!
K, an 8 year old chocolate lab, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma of the radius and ulna on 12/23/11. She had stereotactic radiation to kill the bone tumors, and 3 rounds of carboplatin. On 3/16/12, lung mets were found. We tried several different kinds of chemotherapy to slow the lung mets but none worked. Finally, mets appeared at other sites, including her spine. She earned her angel wings on July 15, 2012. K changed my life, and I'll never forget her. Our/my journey is chronicled at romp-roll-rockies.blogspot.com.
I think you should post a picture of the ginormous donut thing around your neck - if it doesn't embarrass you too much.

Well Wyatt, we're sure glad your home, although sounds like your are going to keep mom and dad very stressed re. bandages-- when I read about the loops sewn into your flesh to keep the bandages on, my first thought was holy crap. I have never heard of such a thing (nor did I ever want to hear of such a thing). Anyway, glad my Aggies got you patched up, and I sure hope those antibiotics do their thing.

Scout: January 31, 2002 to November 7, 2011
Scout's diagnosis was "poorly differentiated sarcoma"; amputation 1/11/2011. Scout enjoyed 9 fantastic years on 4 legs and 9 glorious months on 3 legs. If love alone could have saved you…
Glad you are home Wyatt. That bandage situation doesn't sound like any fun - for you or your pawrents.
You look cute in your flowery donut. Abby had the exact same one. Good thing you are a manly dawg and not afraid of a few flowers!
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. So glad you are back, Mr. Wyatt. We've been thinking about you and hoping for some good news.
Hugs to you all.
Samdog and mom
Samdog was a 10 yr old Golden and retired SAR dog. We found a bone mass on 8/17/12, needle biopsy showed sarcoma 8/22/12, amputation on 8/23/12, post-amp biopsy confirmed osteosarcoma on 8/28/12. Sadly, we found lung mets on 11/27/12 and my Spirit Sam earned his wings on 12/2/12.
We didn't know where we were headed and we don't regret a single step along our path. It all happened too fast, but he left a legacy of love that we will always cherish. Good bye my heart.

Oh Wyatt, I'm so glad you are finally free. But boy, your folks are certainly going to have their hands full with all that bandage stuff. Make sure they earn it with lots and lots of treats.
And may I say, that pillow around your neck really becomes you. So much nicer than the cone of shame .
Here's hoping that the antibiotics do their stuff and you don't have to go in for any more knife stuff.
Hugs
Karen, Ruby and Spirit Magnum
P.S. give your mom and dad lots of cuddles. They have really missed you.
Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. Magnum's motto - "Dream as if you'll live for ever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean). Loyal, loving, courageous and spirited to the end. Wyatt!!!!!!!!!! I signed on for the first time today and had a lump in my stomach trying to get from the first post about your rump lump to this good news at the end - I'm so happy you are cancer free and smiling!
I had a rump lump too when I had the MCT. It looked different but I had stitches in a similar place. It was annoying but I;m fine now so hang in there
