Yeah for pooping!! I'm sure the "Houdini" trick is keeping him occupied--Wyatt is thinking of at least one way to get over on the "enemy" 🙂
As for seeing him... I would want to go, but would probably be holding myself back-maybe have my husband hide the car keys, because it might upset him more. You will see him on Monday (which I know seems like a decade from now), and maybe it would be easier for him to not have to go through the separation again. That said, I can't assure you that I wouldn't tackle my husband and have Lily stand on him until I got the keys!
So glad that he is doing better, and we are waiting anxiously to hear that it's something weird and totally treatable and nothing else.
Please know that we are thinking of you and keeping you in our thoughts and prayers,
Joan and Lily
Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.
I know how much you miss him but it might be better not to visit. So many times a dog gets excited to see his people and then after you leave they get confused and stressed. Some pets are calm in the hospital so sometimes if they aren't eating I may have the owner come and visit and try to feed them. This works well especially for cats. Since he is stable and eating and pooping he is doing just fine!
Pam
If you go visit - just don't leave! Haha. Hide in the back of the kennel (plenty of room!). That way you can keep him from taking off his bandage too. Problems solved!
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.

When I used to visit my young daughter's daycare for a party, etc, the rule was, don't come unless you can take your child home with you. When they see you, they expect to go home. Same thing with Wyatt-- when he sees you, he'll expect you to take him home. So, you are better off waiting until Monday. It's not far off now. I know how tough it is, how empty the old doghouse on wheels is, but Wyatt will be fine. Hang in there!
Catherine
PS Great to hear all these pawsitive updates! Wyatt's one tough boy.
Scout: January 31, 2002 to November 7, 2011
Scout's diagnosis was "poorly differentiated sarcoma"; amputation 1/11/2011. Scout enjoyed 9 fantastic years on 4 legs and 9 glorious months on 3 legs. If love alone could have saved you…
I'm late with this, but I would wait. If he can't come home, don't stress him out. He is in good hands, they will take good care of him until Monday when you can take him home.
And, oh yes, Yea for poop!
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

I'm probably too late on this too but I agree with others, it is probably best if you don't visit Wyatt. It will stress him out when he can't go home with you. I'm sure that's what you would tell us!
Hopefully you are keeping yourselves occupied so that you can try and take you mind off Wyatt (as best you can). You know he is in good hands.
Again, sending you pawsitive thoughts for good results on Monday.
Karen and Spirit Magnum
Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. Magnum's motto - "Dream as if you'll live for ever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean). Loyal, loving, courageous and spirited to the end. All paws are crossed here that Wyatt feels better and comes home soon. I hope that the surgeon's impression of the growth is right. A foreign body is far better than the alternatives! Hugs during this worrisome time. I bet that you miss your boy but he'll be home soon.
K, an 8 year old chocolate lab, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma of the radius and ulna on 12/23/11. She had stereotactic radiation to kill the bone tumors, and 3 rounds of carboplatin. On 3/16/12, lung mets were found. We tried several different kinds of chemotherapy to slow the lung mets but none worked. Finally, mets appeared at other sites, including her spine. She earned her angel wings on July 15, 2012. K changed my life, and I'll never forget her. Our/my journey is chronicled at romp-roll-rockies.blogspot.com.
I don't come by very often so I'm just catching up--and sending hugs and well-wishes for both of you and Wyatt. Scary stuff so I hope tomorrow comes quickly and brings better news.
Thinking of you with Giant pawsitive thoughts.

Hey guys, we talked to the Good Doctor this afternoon. Wyatt is still holding his own, spunky and keeping everyone in line. The best news is: the rump lump has SHRUNK! The doc didn't say what this could mean but it is getting a little smaller.
Tomorrow he will have a MRI and might or might not go right into surgery. As Wookie told us in the chat, it would be great if he went right into surgery so he could avoid two anesthesia sessions in one week. No surgery would be the best at this point, however. We'll keep you posted.
Thank you soooo much for all of the love and prayers, we can really feel it and it's helped make this journey so much easier than if we were all alone. You are all wonderful.

Sure hoping for the best for you all!
As for visiting, it's such a two-edged sword. We were lucky with Nikki and she never really spent a lot of time in the hospital, but Tilley did, and we did visit her when we could. Although it was always tough when we left, we're both glad that we did. A tough call, but Tilley was sick enough that we were pretty sure she wasn't ever going to leave the hospital. A much different situation that yours of course....
Hope they figure everything out. Prayers to all of you.
