jessica, i haven't seen the picture of buddy before - he is so handsome!!! understand how it is when $$ is tight - sometimes we need to decide "a" or "b", cause we can't always do both!
Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
Love Never Ends
Buddy is doing great.. He is running, jumping and chasing tennis balls. We haven't had any problems. He seems so happy. He saw the vet last week and he was shocked how well he was doing. He is an amazing dog. Can someone tell me if tripawds have arthritis problems later in life?
I'm so thrilled to read Buddy is doing so well! Yay!!
Yes, tripawds exert extra pressure on their joints. Joint supplements are recommended (Dasuquin is one highly spoken of around here).
I hope Buddy continues to do great. Looking forward to hearing more stories about him!
Amputation on 11/10/09, due to Histiocytic Sarcoma in left elbow. Angel Harley earned his wings on 06/24/10.
Trouble has arthritis at almost 12. Is it because she is a tripawd? No way to know for sure. Lots of aging dogs have arthritis so I hesitate to blame the three legged gait, although I know it couldn't be beneficial. I started her on glucosamine about a year ago, and probably had done so sooner. She's just started a low dose of rimadyl - 50 mg every other day, and I'm hoping it isn't enough to push her liver enzymes up.
Here's hoping Buddy makes it to a ripe old age totally pain free.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
The November Five - Spirits Max, Cherry, Tika, Trouble & Nova. 11/2008 - 3/2013 An era ends as Queen Nova crossed the Bridge.
Glad to hear Buddy is doing so well. Thanks for the update, it's good to hear from you.
All dogs may get arthritis as they age. Tripawds will just have a harder time dealing with it. You'll find lots of information about recommended dog arthritis and hip/joint supplements in the Tripawds Nutrition blog .

It was good to hear that Buddy is doing so good. Aren't our tripawds amazing? I have had Tasha on Dasuquin since before her surgery, I thought she was getting arthritis and I started her on it when we first noticed her limp. Today she continues to use it. Tasha's little 8 lb. Yorkie sister has arthritis extremely bad and she takes Dasuquin, or Cosequin and has for many years. I feel these supplements have been very beneficial to both of my girls.
Keep us updated on Buddy!

Tasha 8 years old, First cancer diagnosis 6/26/09, Last cancer diagnosis 9/26/09, Amputation 10/01/09, Loving our girl moment by moment.
Tasha lost her battle and became my Angel on May 4 2011. Forever in my heart….
Great to hear that Buddy is doing so well. I put both Skyler & Chloe on Dasuquin after Skyler's surgery. It's amazing to see how well Chloe runs and plays now. You'd think she was 3 years old and not 10.
By the way, I love the pic of Buddy! Please keep us updated!!

I'm am so sorry to say that my niece, Buddy's mom, passed away unexpectedly on November 11, 2011. I found these posts after googling Buddy's name and 3 legged dog. I know Jessie desparately wanted to keep Buddy inside. Sometimes things are out of our control. I was googling Buddy because he is now lost. I live 4 hours away. Please pray for Jessie's daughter and for Buddy. If I can ever locate him, he can live out his days as spoiled as my other 2 big dogs. If I can't find him, I only hoped has found a good home on this earth or runs on all 4 legs with Jessie in heaven. She did mention your support to me on the telephone. Thank you for being there for her.
Jessie's Aunt,
I am so terribly sorry to hear about Buddy and his Mom. This is tragic. Our heart goes out to you and your family, we are very, very sorry and hope that her daughter is doing as well as can be expected.
We would also like to help you find Buddy. I've sent you an email for details. We have over 6,000 members, maybe someone in your area has seen him.
On behalf of the entire community, we are deeply sorry for your loss. Thank you for letting us know.
