What a cute and happy dog he is!
Amputation on the partial leg including the scapula, he would still need to go through the same healing process as any other whole-leg amputees would go through. Granted he is already used to being a tripawd, still, that would be a major surgery.
Is the humerus bothering him? Does it get in the way when he tries to lie down squarely or lie on his left side? Did he injure himself before because of the partial leg sticking out?
I personally would opt for the surgery ONLY if it is posing or a potential to pose some health issues, risks of getting injured, or musculoskeletal problems.
I'd check with the vet to see if the partial leg might affect your dog's well being.
Genie's absolutely right. Only if it bothers him, or may in the future when he gets older. It's another amputation surgery, and it's pretty major. If his situation concerns you a lot, I would look into it now, before he gets any older.
And remember, "normal" is all relative, ain't it? We dogs don't even know what that word means 🙂

Hi Pals! My shoulder girdle was also not removed and although it sometimes looks odd (I still want to use it... especially when I chew things!) It doesnt bother me at all... I am just happy that the pain is gone!! Hope you have a lovely weekend. Lotsa love and lotsa licks, Dee xxx
