Has anybody used these Colorfulhouse non-slip socks?  Rear amp Miss Kitty is doing well indoors with Toe Grips, but for some reason she is slipping outside on our wooden deck.  I’m thinking a sock on her hind leg might be a good idea.

We'll add these to our list of recommended traction solutions for Tripawds.

Traction socks are a great way to help prevent slipping on slick floors, and an inexpensive way to see if Tripawds might tolerate wearing boots. Power Paws are a good indoor sock, but these look suitable for short term outdoor use. Thanks!

I put carpet runners all through my house and it helped my Cookie a great deal after her amputation with her confidence level.

Neither of my rear amp Tripawds would or will tolerate anything on their feet.  I should probably work with Elly now so in case the need arises in the future I can use something.

My quad pug Tani had severe mobility issues as she aged and I tried non-skid socks with her but I did not have good luck with them.  The would slide on her feet just enough to cause more issues than the solved.  I had to resort to yoga mats everywhere on hard surfaces.  I should add that Tani did sometimes drag her feet which didn't help the socks stay on.

When I took Tani to the vet I used Pawz Booties otherwise she couldn't walk on the slippery floors.  While PAWZ are great for short term use they can't be left on for long periods of time.

It's interesting that she is slipping on a wood deck- I haven't run into that.  I hope you find a good solution for Miss K!

Eurydice wore custom made booties (her paws were far too big for anything that exists in the market) but only when we were out in rough terrain.

At home, I made paths with carpet and rubber underlay underneath for extra protection.

Clare mentioned some waterproof socks made for humans but I cannot remember the make, hopefully she will pop in here and let you know the details.

Kiss and cuddles 😘😘🐮💫✨🌟🌹

Eurydice 77kg/170lb Great Dane limping end of April 2016, amputation (right front leg/osteosarcoma) 4 May 2016 6 courses of carboplatin followed by metronomic therapy, lung mets found 30 Nov 2016. 3 courses of doxorubicin, PET scan 26 Jan 2017 showed more mets so stopped chemo. Holistic route April 2017. Lung X-ray 5 May 2017 showed several tennis ball size mets, started cortisone and diuretics. Miss Cow earned her XXL silver wings 12 June 2017, 13 months and 1 week after amputation and 6 1/2 months after lung mets, she was the goofiest dawg ever and is now happily flying from cloud to cloud woof woofing away :-)

Hi everyone

This is a sleeping thread but I searched it to find a sock solution for Homer.  We have runners everywhere but hes now having trouble getting up when he is in between the runners.

I ordered pupteck socks because they have velcro straps.  Homer never cares an iota what you put on him to wear (a halloween dream!)

I hope they work - I will let you know!

Hey there!

Just a little word of caution.

Remember the socks or booties are not meant to be worn all the time, at the very least remove them whenever your beauty is having naps...

On another note, I would LOVE to have a dog with that kind of disposition.

He'd be wearing all kinds of costumes all the time 😂

Hugs and cuddles 😘🐮💫✨🌟🌹

Also, it sounds like Homer might be a good candidate for Paw Friction! Be sure to check it out.
