Hi There! So sorry to hear about the tumor, but it sounds like you have much to celebrate! We just went through this too with our dog, Stephen. This week marks his one month ampuversary and as you can see from the picture I took of him - he's back to being a happy camper. I didn't believe it when everyone said that one day, your dog will just wake up and return back to himself - but that's exactly how it was. I took Stephen for a three-mile run yesterday and he loved every second of it. I'm certain your dog will soon be so happy that life is better on the other side of surgery.
Sending you all of the best - and a speedy recovery!

Noah has been doing great with his recovery, 4 weeks today. We started daily walks as soon as his ruff wear harness arrived. He was so happy to be out and about. The second day when we went again Noah was so excited, hopping down the sidewalk, it was amazing to see. Now we're up to around half the block. I let Noah take the lead on distance. If he can make it without having to lay down to rest we go a little farther the next time. The only problem I'm having is with the harness. When he walks, the harness works its way down to the left.
I'm guessing there's something wrong with how I have it fitted. Any suggestions?Leatha & Noah
Hi Leatha, it's great to hear that he's doing well on his walks! Sounds like the exact same kind of progress I made too, he's doing just fine.
As for the harness, on front leg amputees, the harness will tend to slip around the chest during activity. Without the second leg to hold it in place, this is inevitable but purely aesthetic. The harness can be adjusted at five different points, so try playing around with them and check the adjustments whenever you know he's going to do a lot of playing or walking. Also, there is a small Velcro tab inside the front strap, which helps keep the padded chest strap from shifting around your dog’s body too much.
Hope this helps! Keep us posted.

hi leatha, glad to hear noah is doing so well. gayle is a right front amputee, which makes putting the harness on very easy...but it does slide about on her as well. it doesn't seem to bother her, and it still functions as we need it too, it just spins a bit. we've just accepted that, and go on. hope to hear more about your adventures...do you have a blog?? take care.

Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
