Miss Jack is 6 months post amputation today and I'm celebrating by thinking about how far she's come! It's so wonderful to see her walking (hopping...) without pain. I barely notice that the leg is gone any longer. Sometimes people will stare at us on our walks and I'll check to make sure that I don't have food on my face and that I've remembered all necessary items of clothing before realizing what they're looking at.
Oh! And this last week, she finally learned to sit pretty and shake with her other front leg, so in my mind, we're back to 100% in the Sarah-Jack household.
YAY Jack!!!! Way to go on re-learning to shake. I can't recall if Jack is a left or right leg but Jasper shakes w/her left paw (only) and she has both. I call it character!!!
I was the same w/Shelby... would forget there were only 3 legs and think it was me!
WTG! We are ALL celebrating for you!
alison with the spirit of shelby fur-ever in her heart (and little jasper too)

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

VERY cool! Congrats!!!!
I love your comment about people who notice Miss Jack when you're out walking. Having a front leg Tripawd definitely makes you a rock star wherever you go. She's going to have puperazzi following her around now!
We would looooove to see that photo, especially of her sitting pretty. Here are instructions for adding images .
