It's been a while since I've posted an update on my pretty, sweet WonderPup so here I am! Izzy has been so fantastic but is still awfully "fluffy" ... I've failed miserably at getting her a little trimmer. Oopsie!

After much thought, we decided to adopt another pup. She was waiting and waiting at the shelter for someone to love and nobody came to her rescue. Apparently, she was dropped off by her owners who were moving and couldn't take her ... her ferocious skin infection, serious case of worms and obvious overbreeding told a different tale. The shelter got her healthy and everyone was surprised it took so long to find her a home. The girls get along well and Stormy (the name she came with) even lays on her back so Izzy can have the upper paw when they play. In turn, Izzy makes sure to demonstrate that her comfort is paramount in all things ...

So all in all, life is good. We're waiting for more info on the lump between the pads on Izzy's hind foot ... hoping for the best but knowing that we never really know when our borrowed time will run out. Just loving her and making the most out of it!

Will post more photos as I take them!

Welcome Stormy, to a loving home!

Best thoughts for the lump by Izzy's paw pad - Pofi has had three lumps on his feet that were all not cancer - hoping the same for Izzy.

Lisa, Minneapolis

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly.  His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.

Good times for the back! How fun for Izzy and Stormy, they'll be best pals.

Do you think now with Stormy around Izzy can get more exercise and burn more calories? That would be so good for Iz!

We'll be keeping our paws crossed that the lumps are nothing serious. Thanks for the update.

Sending good thoughts your way for Izzys lump to turn out to be nothing serious and a big welcome to beautiful Storm!  She's a lucky pup to have found your loving home.  Shelter pets are sooo awesome!  Looks like the girls are great friends already!

So glad to hear Izzy is doing well and like her new pal.

Oh what a happy family! I love that photo of her lounging in the sun, I'd sure like to go do that about now.

I'm sorry about the MCT conclusion. What did the vet have to say about it? Any grading/staging done yet?

No, it's in a bad spot and she doesn't think it's a good idea to try to remove it. Too much pressure on the foot and given there is very little flesh, no real chance of good margins and a fear that it incision would split, exposing tendons, etc. She's at the vet today so she'll get to see how the tumor is responding to the prednisone and offered a referral to the oncologist, but I know that Palladia is killer expensive (as is the oncologist's opinion), so we may not do much beyond what her regular vet can provide.

I'll know a bit more tonight, so will follow up if there is news!

I'm sure Karen (Stubborn Pug Maggie) will chime in and offer some good insight. If I recall correctly, she was able to treat Pug Tani and give her some good extended quality time without doing anymore surgeries on her.

As you already know, and has you and Izzy are already doing, it's about staying in the moment and enjoying the bliss and joy kf being together! Everyday is Izzy Day!! Cheeseburgers and ice cream for breakfast is always a great way to start the day!

These pictures are so precious!!! A really good looking pack...human child included! 🙂 I'm so glad Izzy and Stormy are friends. A match meant to be...for so many reasons on so many different levels!

Sending extra hugs and love

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Oh man that is a tough spot for it to happen. I'm so sorry. But your oncologist does sound like s/he's on the ball and looking out for Izzy's best interests. Keep us posted OK?
