So my boyfriend and I, along with our first 2 dogs, have always enjoyed hiking so of course we figured Champ would need to tag along!
We've been working on building up Champ's endurance, but honestly I think he could go longer than me at this point! We've been doing 1-2 mile walks around our neighborhood and he's been doing great on them. We've also been working with him off leash as well so this was also the first time he was sort of tested with that(we kept him tethered with a coupler to our other dog Walter) and he listened to us beautifully!
Today we did a nice little 2.5 mile hike on a flat unpaved trail and he had the time of his life running around and smelling everything. The trail was actually a horse path so there was plenty of good things to smell too.
Just goes to show you how resilient these guys are. Altough I don't think we're going to go back to the 10 mile+ hikes we've done before, he is still active and able to get out there and go!

Bravo! That sounds like the best day EVER!

Have you signed up for the Tripawds Fitness Course yet? Sure sounds like you guys could benefit from the class, there will be so much great information and exercises for getting and staying strong.

Oh and you might want to comment on Kitsune's post about hiking and Tripawds, if you haven't already, they could sure use some examples of doing these kinds of activities together.
