Right now, we are all here to remind you that you DO know what to do! BE MORE SCOOBY!!! And STAY CONNECTED here!! SCOOBY STILL doesn't care what fancy smancy names the Vets are giving these lumps!! He feels good!!! Although, I'm sure with all these little surgery things going on he's not feeling too chipper at the moment. The lump that is in his mouth clearly wasn't interfering with his drinking or eating, so that's good.

You WILL develop a treatment plan and you will move forward continuing to make every day THE BEST DAY EVVVVER for the Scooby Man!! 🙂 And from the way Scooby is feeling, there are a lot of best days ever ahead!!!

Once you get a treatment plan underway anf once he gets his "mojo" back from these surgeries and drugs, you can assess your vacation down the road as you get closer to it.

Lots of love and extra hugs

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

So Scooby's cancer has been revealed as a particularly aggressive, nasty one and there's not much they can do- looks like hemangiosarcoma probably spread from his spleen or liver. It already spread to more places on his body and his nostril which I'm most worried about.

He's still his usual bouncy self bless him, but the rest of us have been in tears for hours!!

Looks like weeks they said... 🙁

Vent and scream and cry and rage! And we join in with you!

But hen we have to get on with enjoying the fact that Scooby is his happy bouncy self- And that piece of crap disease will NOT rob you of your time together!! And right now, you DO have time together! No one knows when anyone's time isnup! No one!

We know Scooby didn't hear any of this "bad news", so nothing has changed in his world!

Wjen you get a moment, search for any alternative/holistic approaches that may be helpful. There is a lover support"med; that has been helpful....something like Derm....Dern...Dermaxx......something like that!

I know you already spoil Scooby, but let's take that spoiling off the charts!! 🙂 Junk food, ice cream, to s of pictures, make sure you include yourself in them!!

Okay, what is on the list for spoiling Scooby today.....we want to see pictures!!

Lots and lots of love and hugs....we're with you, okay?

Update: Scooby is at end stage. His lumps are growing daily and the tumour in his mouth is growing rapidly and looks quite unsightly making his cheek all puffy and it's making his breath rancid smelling. He also has one up one of his nostrils now which is making it difficult for him.

he's still eating/drinking/toileting fine and wants to go for walks. He's not himself though, he almost looks sad if that makes sense. Not sure when to make that horrible decision, feels like we're just waiting. It's horrible.

not sure how much longer he is for this world I'm afraid sad

My heart hurts for you as you enter this stage of the journey.  I'm so sorry!  Hopefully Scooby will tell you when he's ready to go.  Many have said here "better a day too soon than a day too late."  A hard balancing act for sure!  Sending you much love and light as you deal with this balancing act.  Holding both you and Scooby in my thoughts and prayers at this hard part of the journey! ❤️💔

I I didn't realize he was so young!  You are right it is unfair.  Terribly so.  But as long as he's with you make every day Scooby "Scooby" day which I am sure you are already doing!  Spoil that boy silly!  No food is off limits.  Steak, ice cream anything goes!  Sit in the sunshine, stop and smell the roses.  Make everything you do be a precious memory forever!  And remember Scooby has known such love from you in his life.  I always figure the "younger" dogs get a higher rank at the bridge because they miss out on some of their earth years.  Our Max was just a bit over 6 1/2 when he passed so well before his time too.  The key is knowing when the gift of release and loving them enough to let them go is right for them. We give them that last gift "for" them not "to" them.  We know it's for them because our hearts break as we give them that gift of release.   For now just take one day at a time and take your cue from Scooby.  Praying for peace and clarity for you as you move forward along with love and hugs!

Ohhh Scooby is very young, I'm so sorry you are both faced with such a difficult cancer journey.

It's incredibly hard to face that heartbreaking decision to free our dog from the pain of cancer, especially when other aspects of their personality haven't changed a bit. Animals give us subtle cues that they are ready to be free, and often it comes in other ways than we imagine. The look of sadness you are seeing could be one indicator. What else do you think he is telling you right now?

I think a lot of times our animals will hang on because we are so upset at the prospect of losing them. People do this too I'm sure. What you can do to help Scooby prepare for his transition to eternal life is literally have a heart to heart talk with him. Let him know that you will be so sad to live without him, but you know your bond will never be broken. He will always be your hero (and ours too!).

If you haven't already looked into figuring out when to make that call to the vet, here's a great article that can help. A member wrote about the "Penny Jar" method that helped her decided when it was her pup's time. I hope it helps you.

Penny Jars Measure a Dog’s Quality of Life

We are thinking of you and Scooby and sending all our love. If you'd like to talk, the Tripawds Helpline volunteers are always here for you OK?

Another day of heartbreak here. Sooooo very, very sorry,so sorry. We are ALL crying with you right now. Just shaking my jead in disbelief.

Sweet, sweet, gentle Scooby. Scooby jumped k to our hearts with his first post. Such a happy boy...such a loved boy.

For the moment, all I can do is send my love, my cyber hugs and more love. We KNOW the heartbreak, the gut wrenching suffocating sadness. Your world has stopped.

Sorry I'm no help right now...not that there are any words that can be said to take the pain away anyway. All we can tell you is how deeply we care and hiw much we adore Scobby. He KNEW how to make everyone smile.

My heart aches for you and sweet Scooby, I'm so sorry.

There are no words that can adequately describe the grief I know you must be feeling. When you lose any dog it hurts but when you lose a young dog like him, it's so horrible. I wish I could help make this easier.

As you start to wrap your head around the events of the last few days, remember that Scooby's last couple of weeks on earth were a blip in time compared to all the good times he had with you. Although you didn't get as much time together as you or any of us had hoped, you and he made up for it by sharing life moments that add up to an everlasting bond with each other.

May Scooby's happier times sustain you in your grief. Remember we are here to lean on OK? If you'd like to pay tribute to him you can always share his life story in Coping with Loss.

We send all our love and condolences your way.

I'm so sorry your Warrior Scooby lost his fight!  But make no mistake your boy was a Mighty Warrior!  An almost 18 month Survivor!  I know it's not nearly enough it could be 100 years and it wouldn't be enough!  Your beautiful boy knew such love in his short life!  The love and care you gave him since the diagnosis is a huge part of why he could kick cancers butt for so long!  The void he leaves you with is hard to navigate.  Just know your Scooby remains by your side in spirit as he navigates the heavenly bridge with all of our Angels.  As I told you before I do believe our "younger" warriors get the best spots in Heaven and extra treats because their earth years were less.  Tonight look to the heavens and know those are not stars but holes in the sky where Scooby is shining his healing light down on you.  Sending you love and light at this hardest part of this journey.  Your sweet boy will be remembered here!  Fly free new Angel!
