Hi, Our 3yr old border terrier Lilly has been a tripawd for about 5 months and is doing really well, she is getting stronger by the week and is already walking decent distances, however when she gets tired on a walk i would like the ability to put her in a backpack and carry her for a bit to allow her to rest and us to continue walking, I have looked on the web at some of the backpack carrieers for dogs but they are all slightly to small the UK seems to be limited in choice, we bought one but it was a tad small for her.  She weighs about 8kg so not really to heavy to carry.  I am struggling to find anything so am considering making something from a regular rucksack.  I wondered if you guys had used / seen anything that would do the job or had any views on making one etc....

any help much appreciated 🙂

Lucky girl that she gets to be carried! No, we haven't seen anything like that but maybe someone else has?

Great idea. Since Cherry is nearly 19kg and considering her size, I am not sure that I want to attempt to tackle this one for her. However, rather than a rucksack or daypack, you may want to start with the infant carriers that I have seen on many trails. This will have the disadvantage of legholes, but they have the advantage of being stong eneough for the mass you are considering. Good Luck!!
