Hey all,
I just had to share what Maggie did tonight! AGILITY!!! Yes, agility. For those that don't know Maggie & I competed in agility for 8 years together until last year. I got out the hoops (they are just simply hula hoops on frames but an actual obstacle in NADAC agility where we competed)....there is no jumping required as they are flush to the ground....sorta like an agility tire jump but just on the ground..no jumping. They are LOTS of fun and easier on the dogs...not just 3 legged one's either... they are actually called "ground speed obstacles"...because when the dogs are clipping along at a fast pace they are really harder to direct the dog correctly thru them than directing them over jumps! Anyways...I set up a little sequence of hoops for Maggie....and was she some PAWSOME!!! And FAST! She loved .... as did I. Brought tears to my eyes of both happiness and sorrow... Miss Maggie...my 'agilecowdog'....she's still got it! Even on 3 legs! Doesn't have the stamina...but that's OK...she and I had an absolute blast for a few minutes!

She's an amazing dog! So, it doesn't surprise me!
Maybe she can compete in the freestyle dancing?
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.

That is so pawesome!! Maggie is truly amazing...can see why you'd be so proud of your agilecowdog. Way to go Maggie!
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
That is GREAT! We knew she could do it too!
Ok now, time for a video of Maggie the Agile Cow Dog SuperStar!

Thanks guys!!! what a feeling to see Maggie doing agility again....albiet a very scaled back version with just hoops! That's OK...I(and she) is happy with that. There's a class called Tunnelers in NADAC...all tunnels...she used to LOVE that class...BUT she's taller than a 24" diameter tunnel and has to duck/squat down to perform tunnels....so I don't think it would be too safe for her to do...or comfortable..
Stay tuned...there may be a video coming after this weekend...cause we are going to a seminar this weekend...new games being invented by a friend of mine! Called "Wag It Games"...and guess what...there's a division called "Heart Dog program"...it's for disabled dogs....and Maggie was the thought behind this program! Is that great or what!!!
So stay tuned! I can't wait until this wknd 🙂 And neither can Maggie!

Oh my, it does make my heart smile reading stories like Maggie's. Well done! What a poignant and proud moment that was for you watching her.
And how amazing that she's inspired someone to think of games for others like her.
Great update.

Holly and Holly's mom
Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!
