My Rhodesian cross Lolah has been diagnosed with osteo-sarcoma three weeks ago. I am most fortunate that my best friend is a veterinarian and is a diplomat in Chinese Herbal Medicine as well as an Acupuncturist. I write of this so you will see that despite this somewhat odd sounding treatment plan it is not something I have just plucked from thin air......but is backed and recommended by several leading holistic/western vets in my area (Northeast-NJ/NY/PA)

Lolah is on a myriad of supplements in pill and powdered form but the one that is  an inject-able is an extract from the Venus Fly Trap Plant........yes, the very plant that fascinated you as a kid and ate meat with its' hairy little 'jaws'! This extract was developed by Helmut Keller in Germany in 1973. The extract 'super-strengthens' the immune response (in our bodies as well as animals) that attacks alien cells-ie: cancer cells. I give her one injection a day........usually in the morning while she is eating. It is a sub-cue injection-(under the skin-not in the muscle) and she never even knows it's happening.

It does not work well in 'blood cancers' --leukemia-- but is known to shrink tumors as in osteo cases and is most effective if the animal has not undergone chemo or radiation (However should we decide to amputate Lolah's leg-and we must decide soon-I will keep her on the VFT injections to help off-set any new tumors that want to creep up)

The name of this extract is Carnivora.........it is not FDA approved-but has had great results in test trials and is available through holistic veterinarians.

If you google the name 'Carnivora' or its' developer Helmut Keller you will see many articles with much more in-depth information than what I have written here.

Good luck everyone with what ever treatment plan you choose and remember

Knowledge is power!

Thanks for the FYI... i'm in the northeast also. Would like to know for future reference what holistic vet uses this method.  ( I use Dr Dym) Also what is the cost. How long on this therapy and what results so far?

We go to Vet at the Barn

http://www.veta.....hebarn.com

our vet  Dr. Beatrice Ursham  (Dr. Bea to her patients) is amazing!

Lolah has only been on the injections for two weeks-she was diagnosed three weeks ago so I haven't had any new x-rays yet-we see an oncologist tomorrow and then have a surgery consult Monday morning. Hopefully I will have more info then.

The injections are about $10.00 a shot........price probably varies but I got about a months  supply and I believe that's what it equaled out too........Hope this helps.........
