Now that Cora is feeling better we are going to be working on training. As many of you know Cora has some neurological issues. She's a bit numb, we think, around her mouth. This combined with her blindness can make it really hard for her to easily grab a treat. So, I've found that kong stuffing in a little container works great. However, that stuff isn't cheap.
What could I blend up for Cora to use as a training treat? Any ideas. As chat people know my kitchen skills are awful, but I just got a "bullet" blender thing so I think I can make something.
I have used a brown rice flour and pumpkin recipe for our dog treats. I would imagine that you could cut them small enough to use in the Kong. I usually do about 1" squares. You can Google the recipe for Cleo's pumpkin and brown rice dog treats to get the recipe. If you can't find it, I'll post here.
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
Hey Murphy nice bandanna!
Chris have you looked up treat recipes here? There are a ton of great treat recipes like these.
