Have any of you heard of/tried this new dog supplement?  Our local pet store has recently started carrying it and I was curious about it.

It claims that it has 'growth factors' that support health.  After reading about the ingredients/formula they use, I wonder if it's effective at all.  I'm being somewhat cynical, as it appears to be glorified fertilized chicken embryos and a lot of the growth factors they say it includes (like IGF-1) are amino acid chains/protein based...and the stomach/small intestine typically breaks down proteins and amino acid chains before they can get into the blood system.  I didn't see if they had a special ingredient to help prevent this and I can't seem to find any research other than what they put on their website regarding it's potential good effects (cynicism here too...I have a hard time when a company puts up their own research - of course it's going to be biased). 🙂

Cynicism aside, I'm really curious as to whether this has any benefit.  This is the first supplement that I've seen to use growth factors in this way.

If anyone has any experience with DOGtorx, I'd definitely love to hear about it!

Jack - adopted with a crooked leg at 4 months old, managed for six years, and now much-happier Tripawd as of 5/24/2012!

This is the first we've heard about that one, thanks for sharing.

Based upon their description of the formula, at first glance it seems to address many of the same issues as Everpup, the new healthy dog supplement developed by Dr. Dressler, the dog cancer vet.
