Hi everyone. Blumi (osteosarcoma amputee [June 29], no metastasis noted so far) has now been on metronomic chemo for over a week, and is doing fine. I have added organic cranberry powder to her supplements to support kidney/bladder function.

Among other things (kale, mushrooms, etc) I have been giving her 3 capsules of Cell Advance 880 Antioxidant Support (vetri-science) every day. But I hear so much of K-9 Immunity (and Immunity Plus), but when I check the website I'm not really clear as to the active ingredients so I could compare. Frankly (although there is supposed to be a list INSIDE the package) it sounds a bit vague.

A holistic vet has also given me a sample of Notrocept Multitargeted Organ Cytoprotectant With Apoptogens. It seems to work more broadly, with anti-oxidant properties just being one among the bunch.

What are everyone's favorites? Is there anything like a consensus as to what is best?

Thank you for your thoughts.

Hi ilse,

Be sure to check out our Tripawds Nutrition blog for all of our favorites, there's quite a few. In fact we just wrote about anti-oxidants here:

Can Dogs Take Antioxidants with Chemotherapy?

Thanks, so much information here. I'll be sure to ask Blumi's oncologist once more. Hope I haven't done everything wrong. Next checkup this coming Friday. They are doing not just blood work but also another ultrasound, as one of her lymph nodes is asymmetrical. I understand this needn't be bad news, but I'm still worried.

Wrong? No way you're doing everything right be getting informed. It's easy to get overwhelmed so try to keep in mind you can't possibly know all there is to know about fighting dog cancer, nobody can. You are doing great!

Remember, breathe. It's hard not to worry but you can do it!
