We are thinking of you with heavy hearts tonight. You obviously loved your Sophie very much and she was very lucky to have the both of you. Run, Sophie, Run!!!
TWP Rizzo and Suzie
Jack Russell born in 2001. Mast cell cancer found Dec 2009 and right rear amputation. Five rounds of chemo done before all treatment stopped. Living life to the fullest!! Read my story at http://rizzo.tripawds.com
I am so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful girl, Sophie. She was so lucky to have you and a wonderful life. Thinking of you during this difficult time.
Joan and Lily
Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.
I'm sorry to see that Sophie is gone. I also lost my best friend this week. For me, it is the hardest decison you ever make, but like you I had promised him no pain. I wanted my last memories and more importantly his last day(s) to be gentle. I wish you sweet dreams of Sophie.
Harley is an 8 year old Golden Retriever. Amp surgery for an infiltrative lipoma canceled due to two masses in chest. A rescue, he found his forever home on 3/18/07 and left for his eternal home on 1/09/13. His story and medical history are at http://myharley.....pawds.com/
Way to live large, beloved Sophie! You touched many hearts and lived beautifully to the last moments. You are now pain free and can run as fast, as hard as you want. ((((HUGS))))
ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
So sorry to read this about Sophie. She was so beautiful. She is your beautiful angel now, running pain free with the other heroes who went before her. Our pain begins when theirs ends. Hang in there.
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. So sorry for your loss. I know how much you are hurting right now. Run free, Sophie.
Spirit Chili Dawg's pack
Diagnosed with OSA: 5/2/2011 Ampuversary: 5/11/2011 OSA returned in hip: 8/26/2011
Chili Dawg crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 8/30/2011 & is now pain free. He was my heart dog, and I miss him every day.
Sorry to hear about Sophie. I too let my boy Bruno go on December 31,2012. It was the day before his 8th birthday. It was the hardest decision ever. I'm sure that he welcomed Sophie on the other side and that now they are all running and playing pain free.

Maricela and Spirit Bruno
I'm so sorry. I have had to do this too many times, and it's never easy, no matter how right you know it is.
It's amazing what spirit dogs have. My Susan, dying of kidney cancer which had spread to her lungs so that she puffed even when resting, underweight (due to the cancer), and with DIC (though we didn't know it on that day), ran up the garden to catch a mouse, which she ate. If we'd gone by that we wouldn't have had her put to sleep, but the x-rays and the blood tests didn't lie. She only had a miserable death ahead of her and we wanted to spare her that.
It's tough when they appear to be full of zest for life, but you know when it's the right thing to do.
Sending many hugs.
