Thanks Petra!

I always thought Rocky was tougher and braver than me. And he proved it at the end.

Hope all is well with you all.

Rocky had his right front leg amputated on Valentine's Day 2017 after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma.

He joined the September Saints on September 3, 2017.

Hi David,

I think that picture definitely needs a frame, I will share this with you. Since I posted that I have seen Rocky at least three times coming into the forums. Call me crazy but I felt a smile. As much as we feel like we could do more for our furbabies, human medicine feels like it goes overboard lol. If you had all that done it sounds like you had a competent doctor that had a good sense for keeping the area sterile so that you would not get any infection after. That's a blessing. Did they tell you how long it will take to get the results?  A week to 10 days or so? Hopefully they got whatever it is and even if it wasn't good, they got clean margins and you will be just fine. Please share if you don't mind, I will keep you in my prayers. You and Rocky are already in my thoughts often. Take a picture of your photo after you get it framed please way-cool

Jackie

Thanks for the concern, Jackie.

My regular doctor did a "shave" of the mole last month and sent it off for a biopsy. It came back as not cancerous now, but could become cancerous if we let it hang around. So the surgery today was to go in and get the whole thing out before it becomes a problem. The surgeon said there's about a 1 percent chance that the shave sample wasn't indicative of what's really going on with the mole. Or, if I'm being positive, a 99 percent chance that I'm fine. They'll send it off for another biopsy just to be sure.

Good deal! My dad has had more skin cancers removed than I can keep track of. (And I'm a sun worshipper, go figure)  I found out from him that things caught early usually have great prognosis. He has had 2 melanomas removed and has done great. He gets a skin exam every 6 months. Everything you have described sounds like you are all over it!! Thanks for sharing. I know it's personal.

Have a great night 🌷

Ohhh yes.....aun worshipping was my favorite passtime!   Loooove being outdoors in the sun!   And for a year now I've had "things" either frozen off, or, removed with a method they call Mohs Surgery.  The good news is they can get clean margins that way.

Really glad you got that pesky mole taken care of and removed!

My pathology came back. Good margins, it's all gone. And we got it before it became a problem.

But I've got two more weeks until my stitches come out.

Great, great news David!!!! It is always great to hear about clear margins!!!! Brilliant to hear!!! Look after the stitch area. That’s quite some time to leave stitches in, sorry for you my dear!

That is wonderful news David clap Looks like you have already been forewarned.... leave it alone or you will have the cone of shame and mittens for your hands threatened laughing

Seriously, that's just great news. I think it was good for them to make sure they got it all. Take care of yourself, how is Baxter doing?
