Tina,
I've been thinking of you and Manni as well, since I know all too well what you're going through. It does get better. But more than four months later, there are still days where it hits me and it hits me hard.
Baxter has been a mixed blessing. A large part of me is very happy I found him, but then there's a part of me that wonders if I was really ready to take in another one. And it's still weird seeing Baxter in spots where Rocky used to sit.
BTW, when I logged on today, Manni's banner was the first to pop up. Rocky's was next.
Petra/Sally,
Thanks. I appreciate all the support you all have provided. I do remember the good times as well. It's still so strange thinking how all this started a year ago, and it feels like just a few days ago.
David and Rocky (and Baxter now too!)
Rocky had his right front leg amputated on Valentine's Day 2017 after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma.
He joined the September Saints on September 3, 2017.
He is the toughest, bravest, sweetest and best friend I'll ever know.
Today would have been Rocky's first ampuversary. I say it all the time, but man time flies. Happy ampuversary, buddy!
I ended up doing a follow-up call with Stacy last week. She said Rocky has crossed over into the light, but (go figure) spends most of his time in the physical world near me.
Edit: I've now gotten his banner twice while coming to post today. It's like he knows.

Whoa...got the chills about Rocky's banner. It's like he is putting an exclamation on Stacy saying he spends more time here with you
I think the "versaries" they celebrate at the Bridge represent the day the fourth leg is restored when they first reach the Bridge. But ueah, Happy Ampuversary Rocky, however and wherever it's celebrated!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Awww Angel Rocky, it's really clear that you are always nearby and never far from your dad's heart. I'm so glad Stacy could help him feel better.
We wish you a hoppy ampuversary in doggie heaven, with all your new buddies and our Tripawd angel heroes!

The first banner I saw when I came to this post was Rocky's! (at page 12) ...then at this page (13) was Nitro's ..looks like all my friends are talking to me on this Valentine's Day, so I should probably look around for awhile
Hoppy Ampuversary up at the Bridge Rocky! Hopefully he'll send you a sign

My internet went down, so I couldn't post last night. Today's been a bit surreal, realizing it's been a year since I first saw Rocky the Tripawd. Again, it seems like just a couple of weeks ago.
After taking Baxter for a walk last night, I took another one with Rocky's collar. I found a penny for the first time this year on that walk.

WOW! Very special that you took Rocky's collar out for a walk and he sent you a penny!! Nice job Rocky!
David, did you ever try that exercise of writing with your left hand (if you are right handed) and let the thoughts flow? Thst sounded intriguing.

Now THAT was a signal from Rocky if there ever was one!

Nope. I still need to do that. I need to try it soon.
I still need to start writing my book about him as well.

Hey David, i just had a thought as I read this, maybe Rocky just sent me a little nudge to tell you... 😉
Hold Rocky’s collar in your right hand and make notes for his book with your left hand... see what comes out. You might be surprised! Be sure to shut out all other distractions at the time though okay?
Many hugs to you and cuddles to Brilliant Baxter!

So David, it seems that Sally and I are right on board with this idea... hehehe, if you don’t do it soon, we might do it for you!
💡 hehehe now here’s an idea Sally!!! what if.... we tried if for David one time and he can add our thoughts to his book? Heh?? We won’t have Rocky’s collar of course, but ya know, when Rocky becomes famous ??? Yeah, I’m gonna go back to Rocky’s picture on my Tripawds calendar and when Rocky and I work out a time, we’ll have ourselves a little left handed chat!
David, we are not putting any pressure on you at all to do this whole lefty thing with you! Hehehehe Cause honestly, you need to feel the moment when Rocky tells you it’s time.
Have a great week and weekend with Brilliant Baxter David and keep looking out for those pennies, Rocky has jars of them up at the Bridge, he’s leaving them in all sorts of good places...
Looking out for Lefty
