Oh Woo!
Gonna miss you girl! Lifting you up! Run whole and healed...fly fast!
Micki,
I know the love you have for your girl is going to give you the strength you are asking for! You are such an amazing Woo mom. No one could have loved her more or fought harder than you do! Please allow your aching heart to find some comfort in that and here with your tripawd friends!
Bud and his mama
Oh no! I'm so, so sorry Micki. This is so hard and devastating. Rio has been our true Tripawd Warrior Princess and will continue to be.
Our love and biggest hugs are with you

I know how hard today is. But I also know that you and Rio are both super strong. You've been such an inspiration to us on our own journey.
This one last thing that you'll do for her is the hardest, but it will be the greatest, most unselfish gift you can give her. Remember that - you are giving her a gift. You are ending her pain.
My only consolation in this news is that now our Warrior Princesses can meet. Abby will already have the best beaches, best burger spots and cutest boys scoped out.
We are here for you. Please let us help in whatever way we can. Hugs to all of you.
Jackie & Angel Abby
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Mick my heart goes out to you! I am so sorry to hear about this. Rio has indeed been such an inspiration to all of us here--what a fighter! Now she can be buddies with my girl Jewels along with all the other tripawds that have gone before across the Rainbow Bridge. I am here crying too. Know that we will hold you up just as you have been there for us. Many hugs to you and your family.
Geraldine & Spirit Jewels
Jewels was a gorgeous Lab-Shep mix that found us at the pet rescue when she was just 3 months old. Born June 2000; Diagnosed OSA on June 1, 2011; L-front Amputation September 12, 2011; Crossed Rainbow Bridge December 30, 2011. My "baby dog" will always be in my heart. Now she is running fast and free on all four legs after the rabbits and squirrels! Jewels was loved by her crazy-busy mom, even-keeled dad, pesky twin human brothers and monkeydog sister Aspen. Read about Jewels' Tripawd Journey here.
Oh Micki, I am so so sorry to read this. I can only imagine how devastating this is to lose such a special girl. I like to think that heaven sure did get lucky again today with another one of our tripawd hero angels. My heart goes out to you and just know that you and Rio will be meeting up again. She is forever in your heart. And I'm sure she'll be letting you know that she's ok.
My deepest condolences. Sending lots of golden hugs your way...
Kami, Angel Mackenzie, Kobe and Scarlett
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Micki you are such and amazing person and Rio was a very special dog. I'm so sorry for your loss. I wanted to share a few pictures I had of Rio with everyone https://picasaw.....directlink Rio was just soaking up the attention at the dog walk this past fall. Her sweet and gentle nature ans playful spirit were with her to the end.
Micki,
I was so sorry to read your post. The Woo was has been such an inspiration to this Tripawd family. Sending you hugs and healing wishes from the Dalmatian Den.

Spirit Samson was Spirit Tripawd Daisys four legged "brother" and ruled as the self proclaimed head of the Monkeybutt Federations East Coast Division. Lady Chunky Monkey stayed from Oct 2011 and left for the bridge in Apr 2012. Miss Perdy is left and has some big pawprints to fill.

Oh Micki and Rio, we ache for you right now, we can't believe it's happening as I'm sure you can't either. But you did the most courageous, and honorable thing for your beautiful girl by making this decision when you both knew it was time. We send our sympathies to your pack and lots, lots of hugs.
The decision to set our beloved pups free is a such heartbreaking one that we feel we will never get over. So many of us can relate to that awful day. We know how much this hurts, and send all our love with the hopes that eventually you will find comfort in all of the beautiful times you had together.
I just found this beautiful poem and thought it might bring some peace to you at this tough time. It reminds me so much of the days after Jerry earned his wings, when we realized that our pack would always be together through eternity.
"I'm Still Here" (author unknown)
Friend, please don't mourn for me
I'm still here, though you don't see.
I'm right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.
My body is gone but I'm always near.
I'm everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I'll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.
I'll never wander out of your sight,
I'm the brightest star on a summer night.
I'll never be beyond your reach,
I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.
I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.
I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring,
the first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.
When you start thinking there's no one to love you,
you can talk to me through the Lord above you.
I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
and you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.
I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.
I'm the smile you see on a baby's face.
Just look for me, friend, I'm everyplace!

Oh, I just logged on and saw the TWP banner. I love it. A great way to honor our courageous girls, and all our Tripawd heroes, who fought so fiercely.
